  • I have just signed up to the Topcashback site and found the link for blockbuster, It says there is no cashback available for this. Were there a limited number of offers?

Lidl movies- im currently on a free trial with them and all was ok until suddenly they said that they never recieved a disc back from me. i had three and i posted back all three seperatley. so now becuase i did not get proof of postage they want to chanrge me £30 for a lost disc. i never had this issue with lovefilm who also lost a disc, is there anything i can do here. tbh i wasnt aware you could get proof of postage on prepaid envelopes.help help
  • £6 instead of £28.50 for three months of unlimited DVD and Blu-Ray rentals with online retailer Cinema Paradiso
Cancel before 3 months is finished and you won't get charged any more than £6

  • Re Lovefilm - I was previously with Amazon DVD rental, which was great, no problems, it later became Lovefilm. All in I've been a member for around 3 years. I have no problem with the turnaround of films - always pretty quick. What I do have a problem with is the fact that I have had films on my priority list for 18 months at least (recent films) but the only films I seem to get sent are the older films. I am on the unlimited package (2 at home at once) so you'd have thought I'd have seen Doubt or Milk by now. Seriously thinking of trying another rental service.
  • LIDL are offering 1 month's free trial. I've just signed up so don't know how good it is yet.

I believe Lidl are run by OutNow Entertainment Limited (ex-MyMovieStream) and you will find plenty of bad reports on the internet about their service and saying they didn't receive DVDs sent back to them. You could put a claim into the Royal Mail, but without proof of posting you may not get anywhere.

we have been renting dvds with tesco for a while and it has been great, certainly the best option for film lovers. Lately though I have tried renting a few new films on there but it appears they are not available to rent, titles include Kick A*s(I have had to put the astrix in as the site is blocking the word, astrix should be an s) and Robin Hood.

I emailed Tesco and they have been good with their response
Unfortunately, these titles are not currently available to rent from
Tesco due to current problems with the supplier of rental copies. I’m
sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause you. If
this situation changes we will of course let you know.

To make it up to you we are crediting your account with a free rental.

It is a shame though as these are titles we would really like to watch. Is anyone out there having the same problem with other rental companies like Blockbuster????

  • I took up the 30 day free LoveFilm trial offer that was referred to in the MSE newsletter earlier this month, probably on or about the 4th October. This offer included a £20 Amazon voucher.
Has anyone retained the details please?
Do I have to pay the first monthly rental fee to receive the voucher?

    Thanks in advance
    Mike
  • I signed up for a supposedly free trial period on Tesco DVD Rental, during which I was supposed to be able to borrow two DVDs free of charge. I haven't borrowed any DVDs, but today I find that the company has debited £3.97 to my credit card, i.e. one month's subscription fee. It's only a small amount of money, but I detest being misled. That's the end of Tesco DVD Rental for me!
