    T&Cs state:

Your order is an offer to Amazon to buy the product(s) in your order. When you place an order to purchase a product from Amazon, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order (the Order Confirmation E-mail). The Order Confirmation E-mail is acknowledgement that we have received your order, and does not confirm acceptance of your offer to buy the product(s) ordered. We only accept your offer, and conclude the contract of sale for a product ordered by you, when we dispatch the product to you and send e-mail confirmation to you that we've dispatched the product to you (the Dispatch Confirmation E-mail).

What does the tracking for the order say on the courier’s website?

If the courier has a scan a contract has been formed.

If the courier hasn’t had the item then there is a debate to be had as to what dispatched actually means but Amazon are providing fulfilment only and your contract is likely with the 3rd party seller and any claim (such as loss of a bargain) would also be with the 3rd party seller.
On the web page, it states - "Dispatches from Amazon" / "Sold by Amazon". If it is sold by the 3rd party, it means Amazon misleads consumers.
It says that now because the offer on the Buy Box is currently from Amazon.

If your order says fulfilled by Amazon sold by xxx then that is what would have been displayed on the product page at the point of you clicking the add to basket button  :)
I can't prove it now. But I doubt that Amazon changed "Sold by xxx" to "Sold by Amazon" probably very next day of my order. I might be same when I ordered it. And another thing I need to point is that - when you visit the same product you have ordered on Amazon, the web page would show something like - you have ordered it at when blah blah. I see that statement. So, I guess it must the same product from the same seller.
The buy box will chop and change depending upon many factors but most notably if you purchased the last one from seller xxxx (or others have since purchased all stock belonging to xxxx) then it will immediately change the buy box option to the next offer Amazon deem worthy of the buy box.

The Camelcamelcamel website will show you the pricing history for Amazon, 3rd party and (I think) 3rd party with Amazon fulfilment.

It is possible that someone also found this deal. But, I have my doubt that I ordered the last one or others purchased all stocks. I guess the product has always been sold by the same 3rd party seller, but Amazon doesn't correct the misleading information. When the seller found out the price was too cheap, they reversed it back the original price - 1099 (last year's original price) and try to sell it at that price. Interestingly, the seller's same TV but 2022 model is now at the discounted price 799 (originally 1099).

I guess most people's problems with Amazon is return/refund. They are quite good to me in those aspects.

I am kind of being played by Amazon and the 3rd party seller. Amazon keeps asking me to wait for update but can't give me a definite answer of when. I contacted the 3rd party seller and was told that I need to contact Amazon.

I would give up. During lockdown I bought a 'warehouse reduced' treadmill from Amazon at a very good price. It never turned up, and they said they lost it in transit. I suppose it slipped out of a crack in the van floor! I think someone somewhere decided it was far too cheap or else an employee fancied it and cancelled my order. A refund was never a problem, but I wanted the treadmill at the agreed price. You won't win.
If I gave up, it would mean I will have to spend twice amount of money to buy an exact same TV. I was lucky to find that deal, but they seem not willing to honour it. Now, they removed the discounted price and asked me to re-order it.
I wouldn't put off cancelling the purchase in hope it gets sent, otherwise you'll just keep waiting and waiting and still never receive anything.
  • Do you have a link to the Amazon page for the TV you purchased?

I thought about that. But, I don't want to spend twice amount of the money on the exact same TV from the same seller. I doubt anybody would want it either.

Well you only have two options really.
    1. Wait. Believe me, the TV isn't going to arrive. I had the same last year with garden furniture. In the end had to cancel and order elsewhere. How long would you wait for though? One week, One month etc?
    2. Cancel, get the refund and look elsewhere for a TV that meets your budget.

I would cancel it if it is indeed no stock. The truth is that it has stock. But the seller, either Amazon or the 3rd party seller doesn't want to give me for that price.

Depends who have stock and who you bought it from.
It could be that you purchased from a 3rd party who now have no stock, but Amazon selling the same TV does have stock - and vice versa.

Who did you actually order from? Go into the order details and have a look. For example:

I contacted the 3rd party seller and was told to contact Amazon customer service. If they had no stock, they would just tell me they don't have it anymore and advise me to contact Amazon for refund. They didn't mention anything about stocks. As for Amazon, they can't give me a good reason why it hasn't been delivered. They said it is stuck in Fulfillment centre. They are only responsible for shipping. It looks like nobody takes the blame.
