If you go to cancel audible, they'll probably offer you the option of cheaper rates for a few months. You can also put the membership on hold for 3 months. I've cancelled mine for now, but will rejoin again in future.
Does your library do Borrowbox? There's loads of audiobooks on there for free."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
Thanks Jwil I've just done the reduced rate for 3 months and it's gone back to full.
Good news I've had my home insurance renewal quote and it's the same as last year. My cat insurance though has gone up about £38 a year - so need to decide whether to try and move elsewhere or stick with it...
Beautiful start to the day. Very bright.
I've also gone through my spreadsheets and I'd double counted a £45 spend. Better than the other way around. My food spends remain higher than I'd like though... I did my mission for Mr A last night and so now have £5.93 in my pot there. Just got £1 cashback from Am**** it all helps.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Landlines is magical @savingholmes...saw them live, got the CD and read all the books. Takes me to another place. Couldn't agree more re the power of nature. Love Humdinger xx3

I keep my audible subscription - I enjoy the books and podcasts and there are some good free listens in the "included" section. For me it represents good value but I've always loved books. I also pay for Spotify and get lots of pleasure from that.
remember to prioritise yourself and that your pip payment is for your health, well-being and little luxuries.

I'll post some piccies after but I went for a lovely drive yesterday to areas I'd love to live... The problem I have is that every time I get closer to being able to afford the type of place I want it's like a ball at sea and nudges further away. My house seems to have dropped in value where the ones I want to move to don't appear to have done. We'll see. I looked closer to where I currently live and came to the conclusion there are beautiful places here too but I'm priced out by hundreds of thousands of pounds... I'd prefer not to live on an estate as I hate being overlooked. Unfortunately I can't cope with others people's noise so would prefer detached etc... TBF I considered some semis and terraces but most were tied cottages so not an option anyway.
I listened to Mel R again who emphasised the importance of just taking one small step everyday. So yesterday's task was to put some journals back away. I also packed the dishwasher. Today I'm making a lovely roast dinner. I have also put some clothes away and put another load of laundry on. I hope to tackle my 'room of doom' today and tomorrow so I can get it ready for my handyman to paint. I need to be a lot more ruthless with letting stuff go if I am ever to leave this place and get to a point I'm willing to sell.
I think the problem is particularly acute due to ASD as I want to move but would prefer to keep a bridge and move more slowly and dual run two places for a while rather than a big bang. I also remain conscious of DD's needs and am trying to be sensitive - not my most natural gifting.
I've written a few hundred words more this morning. I also want to do bits and pieces of writing. I'm hoping to use timers to accomplish decluttering and writing.
BC - I do love all things books...
I've finally heard back re my ADHD medication - and they've asked me a load of questions I need to complete. They're considering sending me for an ECG before I start... I have no idea whether any of this is going to help - but at least I'm trying to practice self care.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
