I can sympathise with hibernation mode - I've done pretty well until now through this winter I think but I'm really starting to feel like spring can't arrive soon enough now. The nice weather over the weekend gave me a bit of a lift but then today dawned grey and dreary and now I'm back to feeling a bit bleurgh again. Had been planning to catch up with a friend next week as she was due to be working not too far from me, but now her client has changed the dates and it's this week she's down and I just don't have the resilience to agree to something 24 hours away right now. Next week meant I had enough time to build up my "social reservoir" a bit first.

Thanks Lucielle and EH. Glad I'm not the only one hibernating EH but hope you feel better soon.
It was super quiet at work today - obvs a lot of people off for half term. In some ways that made it harder to focus...
I got the thing in the post and did a bit of a walk which was an improvement. Nothing close to Lucielle's standards!
I had some really good news this weekend. I was clearing out some old emails and found that Mr A had refunded me for not using my delivery pass much last year - and I had a voucher for £37.50 just sat there about to expire. Add to that another £2 from my rewards pot - and I was well on my way. I've done a 'big' shop for a single person and only had to pay £57 in new £ for it. I should be able to freeze some of what I bought either before or after cooking - and refill my store cupboard which was getting emptier... It's arriving tomorrow lunchtime.
It was my payday last week so my fun pot resets. I've bought a thicker yoga mat - and a load of posters which should arrive this week. I have signed up for a free trial of an exercise programme - and will try and do some stuff from home given I've suspended my gym for 3 months while I work out whether I want to go back or just quit. At £6.49 a month it seems a good offer - so I want to try out my balance class from home and some of their other programmes. Feel free to remind me to use the subscription!
I also bought some lavender incense - which I've sometimes found can help by changing my taste buds and therefore may help me eat less! It's also a lovely fragrance and can be calming. I woke up dreaming that someone had used all of mine and was incensedI looked up how cheap it was - and bought more - and then set about actually using some of what I already had instead of keeping it for some weird reason. It may have seemed expensive to me once but right now it's not...

Your planned trip sounds good and something for you to look forward to. I agree that days out/experiences are much more fun and create more lasting memories than eating out.
i prefer to exercise at home and my online programme has some good meditation and gentle stretching options that I actually enjoy (I never really enjoyed the gym apart from access to the pool). I'm trying to walk a bit more too now that the days are getting longer.
I hope you like the exercise programme.6 -
Great news about the credit. Hope the exercise plan works well for you."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

Well I tried the balance class online and it was okay - there were bits that were too painful without better quality mats - but DD may have something she can add to what I already have - and to what I've ordered. Failing that I may buy the equivalent of a gymnastics mat. I did 2 x 1 minute standing on my toes today which is something. I'm hoping to try a dance session shortly - with the curtains drawn and no-one to see me mess up - and breaks when I need them. The movement style posters arrived today but I wasn't impressed so think I will return them for £15.
I have to go into work for the next two days but that will do me good. DD has to be up super early to get a train & so do I so I can drop her off. She's then staying overnight though so that makes things a little easier for both of us. Otherwise it was 2 x 6am starts when today I struggled to get up for 9! DD still hasn't sorted an earlier cancellation for her driving test - or found a suitable car - so my car savings for her are still sitting there which is nice for me! That regular saver allows withdrawals - and should have about £150 left in when it ends at the end of March - so will put that plus any interest towards my April holiday once it matures.
I have just booked a scary tour and escape room event for me and DS. He's excited - I'm scared - but no better person to try it with and I'm trying to create memories and get out of my comfort zone... I may also follow up on Mark's suggestion from a while back and try a graffiti tour in a nearby city. I'd also be interested in seeing some elements from the Roman and Regency era. I'll let you know how we get on when we get to it... I'm going to pay off the £110 B&B accommodation this month but am hoping to pay for our activities from next pay day - and put some £ towards my April holiday. I'm due to get double P1p in May so if there is any hangover from my April holiday into May it will get cleared then.
The Mr A order arrived today. A load of tins arrived damaged so they refunded me over £2 but let me keep them as they would just bin them. I just need to make sure I use them quickly.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I woke up at 5.30 due to DD only to find her train was cancelled. There were no longer any trains that would get her where she needed to be. Now at a services after dropping her off. So I have some me time before work (100 mile trip).
So tired and frustrated but want her to keep her job. Genuinely not her fault today, she tried. Her work have promised to do better by her. Really hope that happens.
I've not filled up this pay period yet but overspent last month on fuel. Not surprising given I went down South.
Have a good day all.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
