Thanks DIA
My writing instructor from about 10 years ago - became a friend - she recommended another person - who is now starting a group locally. We are both going to it... First session is tonight. I've met him once. She says he produces good materials so I'm hoping he will spark some new directions. I am more of a learn by doing person so have relatively little theory - so some theory can be helpful sometimes. I'm hoping that this way I'll get immersed back into writing despite my job - and as Blackcats indicated finally give you and my other readers book 2 to read!
I deleted a few hundred older 'story direction type words' yesterday - replaced them with actual story and added about 300 more which made me happy. Given I struggle with 'mild peril' myself it can be hard putting my characters in danger
DD has gone back into work today so should have a relative day of peace.
Hope you are all having a good week. It's gone much colder here again but seems brighter.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I like cold but bright - unlike the foggy misty nonsense we have going on at the momentI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Course went okay last night. There were only 5 students so looks like we'll get to know each other well. 4 of us were in the 50-65 age range and there was 1 young girl still at school/sixth form. Some interesting backgrounds. One had had a book published after a publisher heard her on a radio interview and invited her to write one - sounds like a dream...
I was cold in the night. May need to take my elec throw upstairs on particularly cold nights. Because I was out didn't have the heating on long enough before bed.
I am overspending this month but still in the black...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Cleaner cancelled today - so that's £45 back in the kitty so very welcome. I miss her though...
Got £9 in vouchers from MnS yesterday so that's very nice and been sent some points type vouchers for future use.
I am currently about £80 overspent compared to where I wanted to be - so I suppose that's not too horrific and I should stop beating myself up about it. I've already worn my 3 new clothing items and am very happy with them.
I finally cancelled the gym so once my notice period expires that will save me £24 a month. What I realised last night - is I want activities where there is more of an opportunity to talk - and the balance class provided a little of that at the end but not as much as I wanted. I possibly should go into work more too so have more opportunities for social. Given I've cancelled the gym - I need to work out what exercise I'd like to replace it. I also need to investigate the art class I was considering with my writing friend.
Tomorrow DD has her driving test - I really pray she passes or she's going to be devastated. When she passes - my life will get easier once she has a car of her own and can take herself off to places. I will save on fuel although it would take a long time to recoup my investment in her car!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Just booked tickets to see a musical with DD later this year as a shared birthday event. We are even closer to the front than last time I went. Not been to anything like that with her before so hope she enjoys it.
I still want to arrange to go and see a different show with a friend - but the rates I got for the ballet on the night were naturally a lot less than booking in advance... So a bit of shock on the price. I need her to commit before I am willing to book by which point all the best seats could be gone.
I don't know about other people but my pensions appear to be recovering a little from last year's bashing.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Good luck to DD for her driving test. Will look out for your updates tomorrow.
it's not easy to find an activity/exercise that suits level of fitness, time available and the apparently peripheral butimportant stuff like social interaction. Now that spring is on its way could you commit to a short walk every day while you work out what you want to do? If the weather isn't good you could find a 10 minute workout on line. I enjoy Get Fit with Rick which @Sun_Addict told us about on her diary. Rick is lots of fun and always makes me smile.

Good luck to your DD. I am not surprised your pensions are recovering as the FTSE 100 is at its highest at the moment. Our investments are also up. Not 100% sure why but I think the forecast on recessions are less pessimistic now and inflation worldwide is starting to fall.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
