I live in a flat and dont have a dryer either, nor a garden - just a fold airer things and I have had no issue with dampness over the years.,
Good to see your house moving forward.
Glad you are not injured from your accidental ballet poses on the algae - hope you are not too stiff
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Most times solicitors advise not to get searches done until mortgage offer received as it saves money if they're declined.
Does your employer offer any discounts as it may be worth looking to see if a removal company is listed.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Thanks LWAP and MF
I'm fine today thankfully. Hospital visit was slightly yucky but at least it's done. Apparently even though I'm moving out of area because I was consultant rather than GP referred I can stick with the same person so that was good news. I didn't get around to ringing the doctors.
The pond has practically emptied again already so it seems to have sprung a leak somewhere not sure where so turned the pump off for now.
I tidied up a little and have half filled a charity bag and found some rubbish in DD's room to get rid of (old makeup etc). Also unpacked and packed the dishwasher. I have done the removal video survey - awaiting a quote. MF I will look if I get any discounts as there is something I think attached to my health plan that offers discounts plus possibly £co or similar I can investigate. I hadn't thought of using it for that.
I got a water bill today and am over £150 in credit so I've requested that back given I'm due to move out of area. They are also going to reduce my direct debit by £11 a month to reflect DD moving out so I'm pretty happy with that!!
My gas smart meter is no longer working on the inside display which is irritating as it is the one that worries me the most. It seems to connect intermittently to BG though - so I need to check where those bills are up to as well.
I made some more art last night. It was a piece I started around end of June - and I added some more colour to it. Think teals, silver, purple, blues and turquoise. Really happy with it. Have done a background abstract piece and then a bird I want to work on some more in the foreground.
Need to sort out lunch - tempted to go and splash the cash on a meal out to celebrate being off work - but I'd rather do that tomorrow with DS so trying to restrain myself.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

When I lived in a flat without a dryer I just made sure to leave windows on ventilation - I had to do that anyway because the bathroom had no external windows and the fan was terrible.
Heated airers are also good but still need the same ventilation imo.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

The handyman previously mended the pond. The new liner I bought last year was £20-25 - I can only think that plant roots have punctured a hole in it. I'm not keen on spending any more money on it with moving. Will go out and see what happened after I turned the pump off. Alternatively I've found previously if the rill gets too full - the bit between the waterfall and the pond - that leaks so it could also be that which is why I turned the pump off. The blanket weed is a key part of the problem - so if the pond is lower that could be easier to resolve. I may move my water lily and pond plants into the rill so that they survive while I cogitate (always wanted to use that word!!) I have today off and DS isn't arriving for another couple of hours or so - will inspect in a bit. Still need to get dressed!
Counselling went well yesterday although I was five minutes late. I was similarly late to art class despite having the day off!! Last night we were painting shells and similar beach finds. I enjoyed working alongside like minded people - but wasn't overly impressed with my work last night. I was amazed at the intricacy of an oyster shell when you try and paint it. Outside of that I have spent the last couple of evenings painting a huge metallic hummingbird. I'm thrilled with it and have now put it in the gap on DD's wall left by the removal of her belongings.
I have also been listening to a moving and brilliant fictional book about an 11 year old autistic girl called a 'A kind of spark.' It illustrated really well the kind of bullying, put downs and misjudgments people make about the condition. It also described really well how it feels to be autistic and how sometimes when we most need them - we shut down and lose our words. For any parents I would suggest you listen to it first and consider whether it is right for your child but it would probably help you as much as them. I would recommend listening instead of reading as the narrator was excellent at voices.
I've gone ahead an paid for the searches so that's another thing off my list. Paid on a CC - will then move the £ across in a few days. I need to get some more quotes for moving costs. Yesterday's was a big national organisation
My pay has been settled so I should get the backpay (about £1500 gross) no later than Christmas pay. I'm still debating whether to send a chunk of the extra to AVCs in December or just see it as help towards moving / new furniture.
Next I need to do a meds monitoring form. Such an exciting life!!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

SH - you have until early April to make your AVCs in this tax year, so I would keep the cash in a savings account given your potential need as your House hunting reaches its crescendo (I always wanted to use that word !!)I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
