I would second the suggestion of keeping the money as cash and adding leftovers to AVC when moved.
Have a look see if the Un10n offer discounts, if any £back co's do, might be worth getting quotes from co's in your new area too.

Sounds like you're making a lot of progress in trying different things with your bandstand - sometimes the most frustrating progress is the most worthwhile in the long run!3 -
Wow just caught up. Exciting times!!!3

Thanks Mark, MF, Humdinger and welcome back Orangetoes.
Probably sage advice re the £. Some great suggestions on the quotes too.
Took the cat to the vet - the vaccines were due to be around £38 - adding 3 months worming and flea treatment to it took the bill up another £50. Very glad the water refund is coming!!
Picked up DS and took him out to lunch. We've had a nice time, done messy play aka art, helped him with a project he needed etc - will do a bit more on that tomorrow. We're also going to drive out to what's hopefully my future home town. I may even put him on the insurance for the day and let him drive. If we've time we may nip to see some sofas too... the place(s) are semi on the way.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Good news about the pay, we haven't been updated yet so it's good to hear.

Remembering how many unexpected costs cropped up while moving, would also definitely agree that cash is king and you can make decisions after the move!

Had a nice weekend overall. DS and I went for a nice walk today. Beautiful Autumn colours on the trees. Also made some art this weekend. I'm trying to do a fluid art sky over a mountain scene (think yellows, golds, orange, peach, white and a beautiful turquoise slightly metallic blue). I've got the sky how I want it - I now need to work out how to do the mountains. I'm trying to do almost a layered type approach so the mountain comes out a bit from the canvas. I've been using up some pre-mixed paint from previous paintings plus some new mixes using pva glue instead of the expensive stuff on the sky. It's still drying.
Did a bit of weeding in the garden to make it more respectable for the surveyor. I adjusted some stones in the pond as in the past we thought the join between the rill and the main pond was leaking. Topped up the water - will see if that does the trick. Also added black stuff to the water to hide / reduce the weed. I found various suckers around my fave plants or snipped bits off and have tried planting them in pots I plan to take with me. They take or they don't - but at least I will have tried. The home owner I'm buying from has a lot of pots but I imagine she will take them with her. She didn't seem to have much actually planted. I will probably correct that - as I think it will help reduce soil erosion risks from being on a hill plus it's easier to care for planted in the ground (aka neglect other than pruning!). I don't remember to water pots often enough.
My searches are due to be back by the end of the third week of November. If my buyers aren't ordering their yet - I think it is unlikely I'll move before Xmas. DS was quite happy to come to my new house at Xmas if I've moved in time - it will be trickier with DD though if we go to my parents Xmas Day. She may change her traditions this year due to her BF. Everything is up in the air.
I spent quite a bit with DS home but it was really lovely to see him. I've also ordered more anti-flea spray recommended by the vet, plus some batteries for my garage door sensor which is beeping annoyingly and some lined clog type shoes to use as slippers if they fit. They are free returns so low risk.
The house is feeling messier than I'd like as I have painting stuff out in both my kitchen (complete with sand pit to catch the paint) and paint stuff in my lounge. My art class is due to have a clothed live model at some point this term so that could be interesting. I need my cleaner to be back this week to get me/the house more in order. I also need to continue decluttering. I'm really struggling to find paint free leggings currently - so may need to invest in a couple of new pairs. I only pay £8-10 each at Mr T so it shouldn't break the bank - but will await the water refund.
I've been using up some of what is in the freezer. In doing the moving video survey it became clear that I need to reduce down my food stocks too - in the freezer and my kitchen cupboards. Need to avoid over-buying and consciously plan how I will use things up. It's another 10 days until pay day - and at most I only want to spend up to £50 on food - so need to plan use up more of my stores. I probably should do a meal plan. I know I've got minced beef in there. I think I also have chicken and other stuff. I could also have omelette and separately a macaroni dish.
I need to list the fridge freezer in the garage and take some photos and then help DD list her electric bike. It's all starting to feel more real now that I'm actually moving!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
