I found a really pretty glass bauble today with an angel inside holding a star. So pretty - it was a gift from a relative - but I don't remember even getting it. Privileged.
I have decorations that my DDs made at school 25 years ago and I still hang them on the tree and put them up on the walls. Even more special is that I now have the privilege of hanging them next to decorations that my grandchildren have made. I am beyond blessed.Mortgage Balance: £162,615.84 (December 2022); £163,945 (November 2022)

Also - I'm not sure if this helps but you could see if there's a like-minded group of us who are happy to make a pact about doing more activity? Accountability can be a huge incentive and, if we don't feel able to "get moving" for our own wellbeing, then it can help knowing that we're in a group who have agreed to each other that we'll do some daily exercise. (Even if it's just a dance around the living room or going up & down stairs x number of times).

I think anything we do to move more is a bonus - so yes we should all go for it. I've mislaid my activity watch however which has reduced my motivation somewhat. I hope it turns up again soon.
Today I've spent most of the day watching stuff and wrapping gifts and surplus items from around the house. I nipped to Mr M to look for a special toy my sis was after for her little one but it was out of stock. I made myself put some flowering bulbs back. I bought 2 YS bunches of multi-coloured roses for 60p each and took 1 set around to a neighbour and had a chat for a while. It made her day. Mine are pretty too. Other than that I just bought what DD had asked for so that was a result.
I was horrified to learn today that youngest sis hasn't really had anything to cook on for months in their fixer upper house. I thought they had a free-standing oven but it turns out it isn't working. The good news is I have a spare grill and a 2 hob induction plug in hob I can lend her and some old pans. Ironically they've been here twice to eat during that period - however she didn't have a sink for part of that period!! Just need to decide whether to do a 2 hour round trip tomorrow and take them to her or whether to just give them to her on Xmas day when we're due to see them anyway.
I have to confess my fave gift this year is going to my cleaner. She loves all things art so I've put a mini-hamper together for her. I know she'd be thrilled and would never spend the money on herself. I bought £10 of stuff deliberately for her - but the rest is using up a small amount of my excess...
I've unpacked and packed the dishwasher today. I now need to do that again - and that way I can lend sis some pans and know they are clean. I need to box the stuff up for her before I forget!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I did however find a few bags that had been stuffed in my coat cupboard - including lost art supplies, a fan (that I'd replaced as its been lost for months!) and a favourite cardi - plus random household items and food probably from HB. I also found a box of medicine and my missing thermometer! Progress at least although my lounge is looking messy as the wrapping is not finished yet.

I'm sorry but I'm laughing at this. Give her her own unwrapped was my first thought. Offspring do have their moments don't they.

I am now going to have leftover lamb casserole and roasties for dinner - and then get dressed and go to sisters with stuff... Will be nice to get out!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
