I think having a rethink when the practicalities and the realities of the location become apparent isn't a terrible thing to do. The whole point of you going was to gather more information so you can better make a decision - if you've got more information, then that's good!
On the location - at the moment with the potential changes from DD moving her perm address and my new meds - I feel like I need to regroup a bit and see what happens - and not let myself get sucked into accepting a low offer and the associated pressure of that. If I get asking price then reconsider.Baileys_Babe said:@savingholmes do you regularly use the same bag when going out? Wow.Thank you for sharing that insight. ❤️

So in that vein - I'm still not dressed despite being up and awake since gone 10. I'm hoping to make myself get up from my reclining chair and get dressed soon - but currently while it looks a beautiful day out - it also seems a little too bright and I will find it easier when the light dims a bit - even if I'm wearing sunglasses. I also prefer it when other people have gone back inside their houses and I'm less likely to meet them. I've been re-listening to a story today which has been nice and relaxing. I'm also recuperating after a full on few weeks.
I have done DD's washing and mine. I've packed the dishwasher but have yet to unpack it. My cat has been in and out and seems to be craving meat in jelly - even though I normally only feed him dry food. I have some left from a few years ago so letting him have them - but if he persists in wanting them I will need to buy more. He randomly goes off them and wastes them and then I put them away for a bit. The cat is comforting if tying. I do worry about his affect on the local wildlife especially as I learn more about wilding etc. I loved the book I listened to on that last week. Although it sounded a stark warning of the effect of our pets on wildlife - it also suggested that they were having a bigger impact due to the wider environmental landscape where in the past their impact when there were other bigger predators around and more abundance might have been smaller.
In the next few weeks I will try and become more aware of my impulsivity and my various 'flip flopping' as I resist both good stuff and temptations. I will then focus on giving in to the good impulses - to become more active and try dialling down the others. I'll let you know how I get on. I have booked to go to a balance class on Wednesday - hoping I make it. When the schools are back, I want go up to the Lakes again for a day - and plan in other mini treats. I'm really hoping I continue losing weight too - as over time that will make it a lot easier for me to be active without being breathless etc. I'm not sure if it will fix my rotated ankles - but hopefully they'd get stronger once there is less weight pushing against them.
I want to follow up with a chiropractor or Osteopath - but need to ring the surgery and see if they have my bone density scan results yet. If they do - they've never given them to me. I'd like a copy of the report - as part of tracking what I hope will be a weight loss journey too.
I have a hospital appointment for something I don't want to do this week. I will try and make myself go but really want to cancel. Then next week I also have an appointment for something unpleasant. I already delayed it two weeks - despite waiting a year and half for an appointment. All part of self care but not easy to do.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I think I definitely need to look into that dopamine thing, as many of your posts are resonating with me. I'll be interested in hearing how you get on with your impulsivity and other challenges.
I've decided I won't be getting any more pets after these ones, partly because of their impact. My current cat has never been much of a hunter (and never birds), but I've had previous cats which were voracious hunters and came back with everything from rabbits, to birds and rats/mice (it was actually very handy when we had a rat under the house though). It will be strange not having animals, and I might change my mind at some point, but that's my current plan.
I hope you can stick with your appointments, better to get them over with perhaps?

“ I love the line in bold - good writing. I try to be honest - as I hate bragbook and don't want to get sucked into 'pretending' on here either. The book I read and re-read regularly on integrity suggests lying causes negative changes to our body - and that being truthful can undo them. It makes sense to me.”
Thank you for the compliment 😊 I sometimes wonder if the way I express myself grates on people - lovely to get positive feedback 😊
What is the book on integrity please? I like the sound of it.KKAs at 15.05.25:

Very good idea to have a few days away in the area that you are thinking about moving to. Re single track roads…you become good at reversing or waiting. I reverse every time because it’s often more stressful and time delaying to watch. I’m guessing the potential area is also rural enough to have several tractors?? Another time delay! I wouldn’t swop the area I live in but just pointing out the realities of commuting on single track roads in rural locations.

Something positive has come out of forgetting your meds, realising the potential issues with some locations and helping you decide what's more of a priority. Add these details into your requirements and see if any properties meet them.

I’m rural and regularly get stuck behind the cows going for milking as well as in winter getting cut off.Once your dose is stabilised you should be able to get a month at a time - if you can feel them wearing off you can have quick acting ones that last for 4 hours, we use them here if we’re going somewhere stressful. Thanks Jwil, KK, Dawnybabes, HSL and Bailey's Babe
Glad that I am being thought provoking in a good way.
KK know what you mean about people interpreting things wrong that we say / write - but I'm coming to the conclusion that is as much on them as on me. I'm also far more accepting of myself now I know about my various conditions that make me more 'diverse'.
MF I will amend the CT thing - but had another full on day. I know you can backdate it so not too worried. I need to find my CT bill but again I recently used it as proof of ID so I think I know where it is.
BB - I am currently getting my meds couriered to me!! as part of a 12 week scheme - but after that I'm expecting to be able to collect them from my local supermarket.
Thanks HSL and DB for the rural comments etc - yes I will have to consider all these things. Today I upped my dose on my meds - but felt off all day, a bit shakey/wired so don't know if that means this or the level below is the right one for me. Will see how things go tomorrow. Tonight after everyone stop mithering me was a lot more productive. Literally too busy for junk food today - didn't even cross my mind. I did have strawberries and nectarine around 4pm with a tiny part of a lemon cake that I've managed to make last 6 days so far.
Today I had a two hour break (at tea time) where I had tea and went for a wander and lots of sitting in my local park overlooking a lake. I then came back and worked for 3 hours so pretty intense. A major problem that has been holding things up got resolved today - but if anything that kind of floors the accelerator on the work and makes it even more pressured as we've had a three week delay on one element that now needs to be caught up. I'm hoping things will start falling into place soon. I'm expecting things to stay busy for the next month or so but then hopefully calm down.
It's not looking likely that I will be able to have any extended time off until October. The good news is that I will then have about 4 weeks holiday to take in a 6 month period where I've normally practically run out by Xmas so hopefully it will make the backend of the year easier. The weather has been so miserable recently - I'm glad I took random days earlier in the holiday year and don't feel I really missed out by not having much time off in July/August. DS is hopefully coming up at least briefly in September so looking forward to seeing him then.

Hi Seaweed - meds seem to be hampering things this week and adding to my stress so fallen a bit off the eating wagon. Will see how I go on. It may be that this dose is too high or that I need to adjust to it longer I don't know. Wide awake most of last night which has not been good for getting things done today. A bit emotional.
Hope things go well for your sister.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
