I have ploughed through a mountain of washing with the iron- down to mere foothills now, I have filled my ,maiden and pressed (I like what I did there) DD's into service and I have stuff suspended from curtain tracks on hangers.
DW emptied, kitchen tidied, in itself a mammoth task. stew in large SC for tea, rice pudding in small one. Been to hosptital for PICC line maintainance. Stuff for CS put in a bag ready to take.
Vacuum emptied, Bedside drawers vacuumed and stuff being put away. Pass the Bomb checked with borrowed batteries (one of my favourite games) BOOM so that's been reprieved. Recycling out, rubbish out. Doesn't seem much but it has been non-stop.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

So far today I have
- written and posted 3 birthday cards
- sent some emails
- checked finances and paid out various bits of money owed
- hoovered through downstairs
- FUPA DH's clean clothes
- taken DH to SW
- had a blood test
- got the cash that I forgot yesterday
- walked Rosie without getting wet
- been in touch with my friend K who is not coming home from horse piddle today, which has complicated tomorrow's arrangements
- mopped through downstairs
- updated our Christmas greetings letter (fortunately I hadn't started printing it out or even writing the cards) in view of another appointment received today.
Still to do:
- send more emails
- make curry for tea
- finish off a froggy job
- empty all the bins for refuse collection tomorrow
It's all been a bit random, but at least it's progress!8 -
So sorry Pigpen. Losing a pet always hits so hard.Bf deals with the dishes, and I've slowly trained him that washing dishes also = wiping down the counters & wiping the sink out. So Last night the kitchen was in a decent condition.Bathroom was given a thorough scrub down on Sunday, so I'll swipe the loo and sink as I go to bed tonight.
I had my monthly physio today straight after work, which has worn me out so not up to much tonight. I will do the animal chores after posting.
The big noodle shed yesterday, he's now 4ft! And the baby noodle was very enthusiastic for her dinner that I ended up with a snake lollipop when she wrapped herself around the feeding target. (I target train them both for feeding times so they don't get food focused everytime there is movement at the tank, they learn that its only food time when the food target comes out)Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Hi all
Paid stuff done, cycled in. Our bed changed, WM on. All clean washing put away, LR fire cleaned out, recycling sorted and put out for collection, pasta bake made and kitchen put to bed. Have also had a quick hoover through.
Tired now.
We could really do with a big food shop, thought about getting a delivery but cant find a delivery slot that works. Need to look at my diary.9 -
Well I finally have the big monitor back in the office, I think almost everything is back upstairs.
I need to stack the dishwasher, and maybe sort a washload - I'll have to see if there is enough.
bag of stuff to go to work is ready in the hall
I've also started a notebook for work with the task on the left hand page and then I can note down actions to complete the task on the right hand page...now I have been there a while I can see that I cannot get some tasks completed in one go but I can note down when emails sent etc. Basically it's to protect myself - I've done X but I am waiting for (person) to do Y
This would work for a Toots list actually...
(Not my idea - this one is down to Shirley Conran. Who also says that you should write your name and address in your notebooks in case they get lost - well name and phone number would work for me)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Great Noodle!
- went swimming
- got a couple of things from M@t@l@n, one of which - in my haste- I grabbed the wrong colour so will have to go back.
- flycards posted
- weekly C00p voucher used.
- one load washing done, hung out, brought in as it was a no-rain day today
- did more of a report; haven't yet finished the one I wanted to, so it may be a late night.
- gas man didn't arrive between 8-1 as arranged. Mr N rang the office who said the engineer was running late; if they knew then why didn't they let us know? He arrived 3 mins before I was about to join the Waterways Chaplain meeting. As we guessed, he's going to check it and get back to us, but the stove will most likely need some expensive additions to comply with the latest regs before he can re-attach it. He saw my point that the only reason we got the builders to disconnect it, just over a week ago, was so they could render the wall behind it; otherwise it could have stayed connected and working indefinitely......however, he needs to check.
- meeting went well but Windows 11 doesn't seem to play nicely with Zoom. Technical support trying to fix it have moved me "to the next level of support" which presumably means they can't sort it so they are passing the task to someone else. I tried several attempts at a Teams meeting with long-suffering Mr N and that wasn't playing nicely either.
- wrote up paperwork for the next 2 days' assessments. My first non-binary, will have to remember that when I do the report. I don't like using "they" as a singular pronoun; it is a plural one....however I don't know an alternative, so whatever they want is fine.
- various money shuffled between accountsRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Narco - my brain screams at me re ‘they’ as a singular pronoun too.DW primed, pots washed and left to dry including sharp knife retrieved from DW. I don’t like them to be washed in there. Can’t even explain that quirk. Washed pots are plastic containers, another item I don’t put in DW.
Had a mad moment earlier. Went to loo and threw the roll in to toilet bowl! About a third of a roll wasted…retrieved and binned it.WM also primed.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear7 -
The sight of a loo roll instantly soggying in the bowl always leaves me with a revolted feeling - I'm going to have to get that out. :shudder:Managed to make both beds in the letting rooms last night before I made the evening meal. Very happy with that progress.Off to the Fracture Clinic this morning, with the hope that this is the Discharge appointment.
Better is good enough.7 -
Morning all
Honey Bear - it went in upright and didn’t go in all the way so there was a dry end to grab. And an adjacent bin.Hope you get discharged.
DW, WM and TD x 1
Off to the paid stuff shortly. S’pose I should get up.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Pronoun minefield.. hate it.. 'They' immediately corrects to plural so 'they are' which is plural rather than he/she is as singular.. fries my brain too.. My brain is not computing. I am fine with it spoken.. but written.. it is all wrong.
Trying to get everyone back into school today.. no one is happy about it.
Both WM's on
