Bin it, of course. Seriously. It is nothing.

Hilarious to know that Trace are sending out unenforceable trash demands for foreign tickets.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The Trace letter mentions their client may then apply for a CCJ - can they actually do this, or is that a hollow threat?  I'm in the same situation, having ignored EPC letter and recently received Trace letter and my only fear is that my credit rating is impacted - I'm sure one of the Forum contributors has previously advised me there's no risk of this, but I can't find that exchange

So you mean that some outfit in Hungary can apply through the UK court system to have a case tried in order to attempt to have a County Court Judgment against the motorist?  Did you really mean to ask that?

You can see why Trace does this for financial gain and/or why it will continue.

People pay good money based entirely on worry/anxiety from letters that are outright BS...they are not from a authority .

I've read all the posts around this subject and know that I shouldn't worry about this, but it's hard to rest easy and forum disclaimers make clear this isn't a legal advice forum (and my wife is more inclined to pay up and put it behind us).  There's also a range of views which have been expressed about the possibility of being flagged in border control systems etc - fortunately I won't be using the offending car in future, but forumites have talked about records possibly being linked to me/my passport.

Have you told us what your charge was for, and from whom?  Not that it really matters, but just to put your post into some context.

Hi Umkomaas.  It's EPC chasing for not having the vignette while driving in Hungary (i.e. the same issue as the thread subject title).  I'd expected to pay at tolls, like many other countries and hadn't realised the need to pre-buy the vignette.
