i just received a letter from Contractum today asking for 190 GBP )
Don't give them anything it's the same company. I will not give them anything and they will not take you to court. Use the letter as toilet paper or send it back and tell them to shove it up their bum.

I'm in the same boat . 
in my case , there was no reasonable way i could've bought it from the petrol station so i bought it online . Payment been refused , tried again , didnt received confirmation email on the spot . As already wasted about 1hr to sort this crap out , i set off without the confirmation e-mail but with a screenshot that says how much i paid and car registration . I bought it for a month , knowing i will come back on the same route in 3 weeks time. 
I have a witness that i filled everything right . 
I must add we were travelling with a 3 yr old and reason for travel was medical with a bad toothache . 

Fast forward couple months , got 2x letters from these scruffy EPC letting me know i didnt had valid vignette . 
Looked for confirmation e-mail to notice that the start date been somehow reset to start  exactly one month later .  Like i said , knowing i came back same way 3 weeks later , i was expecting other 2 fines .
Got in touch to them telling what happened , got in touch with  hungarian toll authorities  ( which takes ages to reply ) and no one cares . Because it took so long till .hu replied , i thought maybe it's worth a chance to ask for maximisation straight to them , and the reply was positive . 
I can't understand why i havent been stopped at the border second time , so we can settle it then ?! 

I am romanian , so european passport , and i am worried that i might get into trouble next time i'll cross that thief managed country . We travel trough quite often . 

I would wonder - would it worth paying for the maximised penalty ( which is 2 fines - about £80-90) straight to them just to know i'm settled with them , and then request a refund for the vignette i havent used ? 
I've only got a few days left to make up my mind and all this situation caused a lot of stress .

I received a few letters from Trace debt recovery for my travel through Hungary without vignette. Today I received final notice, should I worry?

I read it, but because is for EPC and not Trace, that's why I asked.
