I saved an impressive sounding 88% of my energy use, which translated into 176 OctoPoints, or £0.22.
I'm a low user at that time of day anyway to I guess a large % of not very much = not very much!0 -
That's what I say whenever someone brings up their 15% mortgage interest rates from 30 years ago.bagand96 said:I saved an impressive sounding 88% of my energy use, which translated into 176 OctoPoints, or £0.22.

It's slightly confused by the fact that you earn Octopoints and not £ - with Octopus free to choose what each point is worth - and also free to put on a cap.Alnat1 said:Was it £2.25 per kWh? If so, I was paid for saving 1.19kWh.
All we know is that it is unlikely to exceed £3/kWh because that's what Octopus will get paid by Grid.0 -
They say 8 points to the penny. I doubt they'll change it from that. It all seems transparent.[Deleted User] said:

And do they then tell you also how low their earnings were in comparison to today?Petriix said:

I don't doubt that that's what it will be for this one, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was different on another session.t0rt0ise said:

I saved £4.30 apparently - I didn't do anything specific to save energy though for some reason I did use significantly less than previous weeks for the 5-6pm time period. Octopus said I saved 66% energy.0

Thanks for being part of our first Saving Session. Together with more than 200,000 other Octopus customers across the country, you just pulled off the largest home energy shift in UK history.
Collectively, you saved enough energy to effectively switch off an entire gas power station throughout the Saving Session.
Here’s a quick look at the difference your efforts made:
- You saved 0.479kWh and earned 1864 OctoPoints – worth £1.08.
- You made an even bigger change than most – you were one of the top 10% of Savers, and have earned our Super Saver Bonus! That's an extra 1000 OctoPoints, worth £1.25.
- Together, Octopus customers saved 108MWh of electricity. That's a lot of dirty energy the UK didn't have to generate. In fact, it was equivalent to effectively shutting down an entire gas power station throughout the Session. That saved 20,415kg of CO2 emissions.
Super Saver Bonuses
As one of the top 10% of Savers, you've earned our Super Saver Bonus – 1,000 OctoPoints, or £1.25. Your Bonus will be added to your OctoPoints page in the next few weeks.
