That's the reading you need to give to BG, not the kWh reading.  If you have been giving the kWh meter readings to BG, this is why you gas bill is astronomic.
Omg can't believe it's taken members of the public on a forum to tell me this, I've sent the pictures of the readings I've taken to BG but not once have they said that I'm giving the wrong readings!!! I'll do the CORRECT readings for the week & will update thus thread next Wednesday after I've had the call from BG.
Am I reading the correct screen on the electric?

On the basis that the meter is nearly 6 years old - about 1100 m3 / year = about 12,500 kWh  ie quite normal.

Now all you have to do is unravel the error and get rebilled.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

^ If it's any consolation, you were at least sending them photos of the right meter ;)

In my opinion it is not, as the reading is too low - especially as you have said that the meter has been installed for a while.

If my memory serves me correctly, on the Liberty Smart Meters, one press of the number 9 key will give you the correct electricity reading.

You might be, but you might not.

Here is my favourite video on how to read the Secure Liberty 100 meters:
Your big challenge now is that your opening readings you provided to BG in September are likely to also be wrong, and you can't go back in time to read them.

Electric is no problem - only the one screen to other about (when you are on a single tariff)

Although that would still leave the mystery of why the reading in September was 000035.8 when the meter is 6 years old?

Huge thank you to everyone for your advice and guidance, wish I'd come here first instead of speaking to BG and getting upset/frustrated/scared/angry - you guys are awesome
