sashacat BG are idiots. Its like trying to negotiate with a 2 yr old.
If I were you, I wouldn't even bother trying to get any sense out of them...contact Energywatch. Its amazing how quickly things get sorted out when you do that.0 -
A no spend weekend for me... have overspent recently due to a lot of travelling and have included running my car in the calculations as I have no dependents.
Still on track! If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

Morning Fellow Frugalists:wave:
As you can see, we still have electric and telephones so I hope everyone else has the same or I could be talking to myself
Bit of a disaster last night.
DH went outside to tie down the tarpaulinn which is a temporary roof for the garden shed....the roof melted in the recent fire
When he came back in, he could hardly walk. Had managed to twist his ankle on a bit of debris which still litters the area outside
I have applied tubigrip and kept his foot elevated but have a bad bad feeling about this.
This morning he is in agony so its off to the Doc's we go as soon as surgery opens.
Now, me, I would be whisking him off to A & E as I'm sure he needs an X-Ray but I'm only a nurse, so what do I know
DH has only had a week off work in the last 10 yrs and he says he will manage but I have put my foot down. As he's a cook, he's on his feet all day so that's just silly.
This is so bad of me but, for the first time for months, DH has been given almost full time work at the place where he works and our finances were set to improve a bit. It would have boosted his wage to £110 a week instead of £65 :j
Still, I would rather have him fit for his up and coming operation at the end of May.
Does anyone know if he will get sick pay when he is in receipt of a small retirement pension (£65 per week)?0 -
ohhh janey i hope he is ok ....0

Thanks elantan.
Have decided to bypass the GP and head off to A & E as the weather is so bad and forecast snow.0 -
Morning Janey and Elantan, and everyone else to follow:D
Janey - Hope OH is okay, bad timing on the injury, but speaking as a former chef he would get no chance at all to rest it at work so would probably heal quicker taking a couple of days off to rest it. Don't know about the sick pay though.
Not much frugalising planned for today but intend to have a no spend day, and eat yesterdays veggie soup creation for lunch with some home made bread.
Have a good day everyone, hope you didn't suffer any damage during the night from the winds, everything seems okay here0 -

Mumzsy - we use Tesco Value kettles - they are cheap, look okay and work well. I'm sure other supermarkets do similar (in the interests of fairness!)
I managed to use £1.50 worth of coupons on our milk/bread shopping today so am pleased.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
