    :rotfl: AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Bombing down to A & E and hit the only fallen tree in the whole of the area

Poor little car had a huge branch wedged under the back and was going nowhere.
Kind man stopped and then went to garage to summon help.
DH very upset as unable to do anything to help. Janey trying to pull branch out from under car that was bigger than she was. Jumping up and down in frustration
Another kind man stopped (tree surgeon  ) and cut the rest of the tree up and removed it from the road. Was severely tempted to ask for the logs but restrained myself

Breakdown lorry arrived. Nice young lad jacked car up and removed half a tree from where it was wedged between wheel and wheel arch. Said it was OK to drive so resumed journey after promising to call in at garage to have underneath car checked.

Spent 3 hrs at hospital. Dr "not sure" if DH has cracked a bone but advised rest and crutches and they will phone when radiologist has checked X-ray.
Frugalism to the fore...wouldn't let DH have a coffee from the diabolically expensive coffee outlet (told him he couldn't as they might want to do something :rotfl: )

Got him a bottle of water at Mr M's at the garage where I filled up with diesel as its 7p litre cheaper there than at home.

Took car to garage and    lots of swear words

there is still half a tree wedged in the air conditioning fan which is cracked through the middle and the "floor pan" is cracked from front to back

My poor car. I am a disaster with cars...I've been jumped on by a cow, ran into in broad daylight (while stationery) by a traffic officer, been skidded into by an old gentleman who shouldn't have been driving as he'd had a stroke and was blind in one eye

I must have more lives than a cat.

And now...there's a severe weather warning for our area for Wednesday and I still can't get at the logs as DH has filled the shed with all his new tools.

Has anyone got a padded, nice, dark room where I can lie down :rotfl:

Janey, your car seems fated, however a true OS'er would have kept the cow for the freezer! :p

I know that your day was traumatic, that you must have been worried sick, that you now have a dodgy car, but you made me laugh till I cried.

Do you keep a diary - get it published girl, if it this quality all through it will be a smash?

Janey, I sympathise completely and recommend you baton down the hatches with enough food and drink to last the week and just ride out the storm in happy oblivion. What is it they say about life?
I'm sending you some virtual luck courtesy of the "magic wishmaker", which is currently in my possession. Hope it helps :)

Janey, what a day! You must have indeed been upset not to ask for the logs. Well done on being able to smile through it - I'd go with Nyk's idea and hole yourselves up for the week (think of all the NSDs). Big hugs xx
