Mumzy I spoke too soon about DD being better ... she seemed OK before I left for work this morning, but was feeling very poorly when I got home. Her eye is all gunked up again and her cold is worse than ever. She will go to the doctors in the morning.
I'm pretty sure that most colds are caused by viruses, not by going out to the park in the cold! So don't feel bad about it. Fresh air is good for little ones.
We aren't going away straight after coming back from hols ... just dreaming about it. We were away from 16-30 January and the next one is 16 June-2 July or something like that.
The holidays wouldn't normally be that close together. We were planning to go away in November but the holiday company cancelled it at the last minute, which was a right old pain. Fortunately the January one was very reasonable value so we didn't lose out too much financially - just had to travel at a colder time of year.
Whitewing Thanks for the cold tea tip - we will try that on DD in the morning.
Bails When we had guinea pigs, we bought food for them by the sack from an agricultural feed merchants. It cost us less than £10 for a huge sack - way, way, cheaper than buying it in the normal shops.0 -

This bloomin' wind has bought my 10ft Clematis down!!
BF has the day off so we might have a go at fixing it back onto the battons attached to the wall. It's drying the washing though. There is always an up-side to every down-side, don't you think? Where washing is concerned...my DS:mad: insists on wearing his clothes for approx. 2 hours and then slings them into the washing basket! No...I stand corrected...he slings it on the floor! In my eagerness to cut down on the washing, therefore having less of a strain on the enviroment, and, being as frugal as I can,I have taken to 'sniffing' his t-shirts and trackie bottoms, to see if I can get away with just re-hanging them in his wardrobe.;) So far, he hasn't noticed, but I'm in fear of being caught out and him getting straight on the phone to Social Services to report me fo cruelty!:o
Yesturday I spent the morning with my BF at the hospital. It must be the month for hospital visits for us frugalites! He had to go to the thyroid clinic for a check up. Hopefully, if his bloods are okay the next time he's tested then they will discharge him:T We then popped into Mr.T's for this weeks groceries and spent £23.41. I'm really pleased with that as we are coming well within our budget since we challenged ourselves to £30 a week for food at the beginning of the year! I think we have only gone over once and that was for only a few quid:D
I can hear my BF getting up so I'm off, as every time he enters the room, I'm on MSE, he thinks I'm having an affair with Martin!:money: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Living a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T
