Posh new stars and medals! I guess the one following the medal is to show you are close to moving up one? Have we any four star generals yet? :rotfl:

    My great Victorian grate dilemma...
I dashed off to find out if this was still available for sale and lo & behold... it was waiting just for me. :T I've made my offer and just need to wait and see how easy it is to move, then find out the most cost effective way of getting it from there to here. It's a restored 19th Century grate and I think it will look fab sitting in the fireplace here, even although there's no fireplace surround or mantlepiece (yet) :D In the meantime, I have decided that it is, indeed, worthwhile sweeping the chimney. Friend arrived earlier for cuppa and I asked about having the drains rodded (gluggy drain outside back foor), whilst showing a piccie of the grate... and he has chimney rods too! So, guess what we are all doing on Saturday?! :rotfl:

I'll keep an eye open on freecycle. There isn't usually anything anywhere near us, but I subscribe to the daily updates just in case.

Baked the last of the cookie dough whilst oven was heating for dinner and have started off some dough to bake some rolls. I STILL haven't been to the shop despite there being no fresh milk or bread left. I even had the confused milk on my Rice Crispies this morning! :o I've taken some mince and a pack of bacon pieces out the freezer, so I should be able to make some lasagne for dinner tomorrow plus a load of ham stock. I think I might attempt a ham & mushroom pie with the meat that's left, but have never tried this before. Must check the grocery challenge thread, I'm sure that's where I saw a few posts about it. I also like using the remnants of ham in cheese sauce with pasta but there looks loads, so should be able to turn this into a rubber ingredient. :rotfl:

Can't wait to find out if I'll get the victorian grate! Wonder if I should bring some logs and coal in now or wait to find out? :D (We brought everything from the last house, including the kindling, the few remaining logs and the remaining coal - paid good money for them, wasn't losing it all! :D )

Off to check the dough, back soon :)

Mumzy, Good luck with your 'busy bake' day.
Broke Mum, surely it can't be that bad? Can it?
I reserve the right not to spend.
