I'm going to get creative with some plums.

I made plum vodka in the autumn and drank it over Christmas. I've eeked out the plums by adding lemonade to the bottle a couple of times but I don't think I can draw much more vodka out of the fruit. I nearly threw the fruit away last night (hush my sinful mouth!!!!) but have decided to try to turn it into a sweet plum sauce and then freeze it. If I cook it slowly with some sugar, it should turn into a stewed fruit consistency and then I'll blitz it. I'll chuck in a handful of raisins as well as a lot of the plum flavour would have steeped in the vodka itself.

  • Id love to do a boot sale, but as I dont replace anything at all unless its broken, worn out and absolutely done......mines would be more like a jumble sale

    Hiya everyone!
Before I catch up, I just need some advice please. It's long story so I won't bore you with the ins and outs of it but in summary, we now seem to have paid £154.59 for approx. 6 months gas (I can't give you exact dates due to various mess-ups by supplier). Does this seem like a lot to you?? Just to give you a better picture, we have GCH, cooker, gas stove in lounge (which we were told eats gas), no double glazing and a hole where the loft door should be. I am in almost all day every day and sometimes have the heating on all day (well, before this challenge started anyway:D) as I feel the cold a lot. There are 2 of us. I haven't tested the appliances on the meter yet but will do now, I was just wondering what you thought? Thanksfor any advice you may have.

Janey, I'm so glad you posted this - I thought I was the only one! It's when I get excited that someone gives me some forms/paper etc. that has a paperclip on it that I can keep and reuse that I feel that I am a bit OTT.

This, and Janey's loo paper, are hysterical!! :rotfl:I too get ridiculously excited if I 'accidentally' get given a paperclip or some other stationery! I do have a stationery fetish though (surely the main motivation for going into teaching ;)).
