Princess Leia, look after yourself, hope all is OK.
Welcome Angelofthenorth - you are number 122
Today is the 17th January 2008. That means it is one full month since I issued this challenge and the thread has been viewed 62234 times already!! That is truly amazing and I would just like to congratulate every single one of you for agreeing to take part. To those who have just joined us, I hope you will have great fun participating and that by doing so you will benefit in some small way. I can honestly say that I have never been a member of a forum that has been so 'family' like in every way. The amount of help and support offered by everyone here is something that no amount of money could buy. This may be a frugal little community within the vastness of cyberspace, but I think we have already proven that the subject certainly binds more than just a handful of individuals. Long may it continue and may every single one of you succeed in achieving your goals. The trials and tribulations that we will experience throughout the coming year will probably stay with us all and, if nothing else, we'll certainly have build a fantastic story to tell in our old age. Thank you for being here and thank you for making this such a great place to spend time.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Only £5 for me today on the train. I had enough food and snacks with me to last the day and was able to sneak my way to the kettle with a tea bag to make a cup of tea without having to pay 40p! (I didn't steal anything just using the kitchen outside normal hours
) This challenge really makes you be sneaky.
I've got very obsessive with money since Jan and doing this challenge, it really makes me think very carefully about every penny I spend and whether it is worthwhile or not. I'm helping out a friend with her taxes tomorrow and even scheduled the time of that to coincide with being able to use my young person's railcard
Thanks for the soapnut reviews - I'm very very tempted now but don't know if I can prise my purse open to cough up the money for P&P for the samples! How ridiculously tight is that?~ Lexie ~The Minimoilist.Saving money and the planet at the same time.0 -

I got overnighted in hosp due to preg problems (all ok now I think!) but I have no idea what was spent as it was DH who had the power for a change!!!
As we had no change for parkingwe had to get money out of the bank, spent loads on petrol and snacks etc as hosp food is
I hope all is well for you now, sending you very good vibes!
Don't stress over your spending for hospital stuff, your health has got to be the top priority. *hugs*~ Lexie ~The Minimoilist.Saving money and the planet at the same time.0 -

Lollopybear....know what you mean about being sneaky. I try to make sure I use the loo in friends' houses to save me having to use my own toilet paper. And when I'm at work, I sometimes sneak a few sheets into my pocket to take home.0

Well, was having a brilliant day until the milkman turned up at the door for £13 and the Kleeneazy I forgot i'd ordered (Xmas pressies from sale), my £60 to live on this week is now down to £40 and I've still got £20 to put on the electric yet.
This should be an interesting week!
Anyway, me and hubby had a barney this evening as he thinks I've gone bankrupt because I'm doing all this "economising". UNtil I reminded him he has two fishing club memberships due in March (£160), one holiday to book, pay and save for (Butlins £600ish) and a bed to pay for before the interest kicks in.:rotfl:
And it all started over this disgusting tasting bolonaise sauce I made, so if anyone has a can't fail recipe for bolonaise sauce I'd really appreciate it, every time I try, no matter what the recipe IT TASTES NASTY!:hello:Payment a day challenge: £236.69
