You could use olive oil in place of the butter in the mash, works well (haven't tried it with other oils) and you don't need milk then either.
Don't have any of that either I'm afraidbut cheers anyway. Years ago I had a tiny bottle of truffle oil which I used in mash. It was delicious but not very MSE!!!

its not money savings, its just uni problems in general
am having a break from writing an essay - got 1748 words and need 2500 but am slowly running out of things to say
then i have another 2 essays to write, and a million and one other things to do at the same time! just think it has got on top of me today.
Am going to write a list of things I need to do, and then see what's a priority and whatnot. thanks for the support guys, it is much appreciated. xxBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Probably gonna get this round my neck :rotfl: - I don't think i can join in
You see, as our rent, gas, electric, water come straight out of hubbies wage (army accomodation)....
we have a mortgage, but that is paid for by the tennant at the moment...
So i really only have control of the "housekeeping" side of things -any other things are all set up DD out of hubbies account
Pants... will just have to follow you all and stick to keeping my shopping as low as a snakes belly :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Congratulations to everyone whether you are having a good day or a bad day. Bad days are to be expected as we've all had plenty of them pre-living on 4k challenge times. Think how much less stressful these bad days will become knowing that you'll have fewer money worries or more savings stashed away. If you are having a bad day, try to get back that smug feeling! You know the one, they 'I told you so' one because you know that with good comes bad but you are so in control of your finances that you'll eventually overcome almost any problem. 'Pah' to problems... they are only sent to interupt the good times and make us appreciate more.
Now, what to do about writer's block if you are 1000 words short of an essay... what's the essay about? Maybe we can all chip in our virtual penny's worth and send some inspiration your wayGive us a few key words and see what surprises spring to mind.
Fiz, sorry to hear about your house dilemma, but perhaps there will be a blessing in there somewhere and you just haven't spotted it yet. If you already know that you really must move out of your house, then any delays caused by whatever reason will give you that little bit longer to search for alternative accommodation and that little bit longer to organise finances so you can raise the deposit. I'm sure things can be worked out. Surely, in this day and age, nobody would see a mother and her children out on the street.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
