I'd still like to try that 'firm hold' woopy doopy super duper allegedly fantastic holds any hair type in place hair gel - you know the one, it was advertised on TV with such firm hold they guy's hair was rattling off the overhead signs. Hmmm... I wonder what a mohican style would look like? :rotfl:
Sorry, back again... if I had blue hair and went on a roller coaster would I look like that smiley???
havent seen the ad you mention, but if your hair is long and blue be careful else you may end up looking like Marge Simpson and/or that smiley   ... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I also ran up more debt BUT it was to pay for driving lessons and an Open university course, both of which will enable me to get a new job, plus it is on a 0% card and the payment is coming out of my 4,000.
xx
I've taken a December CC payment from my 2008 budget because I include everything. I'll also be including minimum monthly payments for my 'stoozing' fund. I know this isn't an essential to living but I've already done a year of this challenge and need to 'up the ante' on my part to see how far I can stretch the 4k. At worst, I'm guessing my little game of 'catch-up' will be played on a regular basis :rotfl:
Rosieben... Marge Simpson?? That's what my kids (Bart, Lisa & Maggie) call me :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

December's credit card bill doesn't arrive until January and it gets taken out by direct debitI reserve the right not to spend.

That would explain it then LOL. When im debt free i will prob use a card to pay for things and then pay off end of eac month...how much can u spend each month max? and whats if there isnt enough money in to make ends meet when the CC DD comes out? Thats what scares me with D/D expeshly ones over like £50.
I only have 4 DD's and there not by choice one for Insurance, gas,elec,waterSealed Pot dec 08 - dec 09 so far £27.67, Live off £4k Spent £330.20 GC £1,200 for 2009 Spent £50.78 PaD so far £650.07Debts: L/woods £154.00 C/One PAID O/D £649.90 Next £299.95 O/D PAID Gas £72.60 Electric £155.73 Mum £640.00 Orange £490.320 -
I haven't been to the hairdressers for 5 years now, I usually wear my hair in a pony tail, but when it gets really bad, I just tend to hack a few inches off. I do spend £4 every 2 months on a colour as my hair is very grey & I don't need to advertise how old I am as where I work, they tend to get rid of people over a certain age.
I also haven't worn makeup for about 30 years.

Oopsie.
I had such a great day as far as cash outlay went.
At lunch time I popped out and purchased 3 bananas (my staple breakfast) from the local market stall - saving myself 52p for the weeks remaining breakfast expenses.
Oh, the joy of it! :rotfl:
Enroute home, I walked that bit further to Tesco's (slightly less expensive than my local Co-op) to pick up a couple of extra ingredients for dinner and strolled home feeling wonderfully pleased with myself.
Until I got home and found the mince that had been in the fridge but two days - and dated for 11th Jan - had gone off.
A whopping £2.28 down the drain!
Oh, the fury!
(ok, a bit of an untruth but it saddened me.)
So I went back out and bought some more - now at £2.99!
However, all's well that ends well. I made a lovely dinner, froze a portion (for either Sunday or Monday night) and have a portion in the fridge ready for tonight too.
I don't know if I will succeed at my Challenge but somehow it's still ok because what I am learning; my awareness of my expenditure; the thrill of the Challenge - all these things alone have become so worthwhile!

Have only spent £30 cash this year - food/ necessary bits. All the Direct Debits have come out - except my loan which I must sort out today. Seem to be 'on target' as it were, and have got the kids on side too. Have promised them if we save enough money we can go on a holiday next year - on an airplane! DD2 wants to go to Australia which is a little ambitious I think! But they even offered to go without Christmas Presents!

I'm so jealous of all you folks with long hair! My hair is really hard to control being thick & wavy & tends to grow outwards rather than downwards lol so ds2's hairdresser girlfriend is kind enough to cut it for me into a more easy to manage shoulder length style
Hester I don't wear make up either my sensitive skin won't tolerate it except for mascara for a few hours if I go out
Just want to say a huge thank you to all the people who aren't taking part in the challenge for taking the time to post your tips, good wishes & words of encouragement on this thread :A It really means a lot & makes me even more determined not to fail, so thank you so much & keep the posts coming, they are really appreciated
Wednesday are my favourite day of the week as I am at home all day :j so I'm going to spend it in the kitchen doing lots of baking. The plan is to make a couple of quiches & apple pies, a fruit loaf & rolls in the breadmaker & maybe a couple of cakes. So I will catch up with you all later as I must switch the laptop off or I won't get anything done!:o
Hope Wednesday goes well for you all0 -
I just have to say that this is the nicest thread that i have been on in the DFW board in a long time. :T Well done to everyone so far:T . I will be posting my spends at the end of the month, if I do it daily or weekly I will probably confuse myself  (it's easily done)Credit Card Debt
