Our postie scans the items on collection and you get an email immediately to say the item was collected, this is your proof of posting. Was the smaller item a large letter? If so it may go a different rout but should get tracked somewhere.

It was a small parcel but was smaller in size compared to the other I've given him. He collected again and I asked about this and he said that I should get an email to use in case one gets lost. My worry is I may not get an email if item doesn't get scanned. I'll see what the outcome of this is it and I'll ask him next time to scan them when he collects or I'll just go back to dropping them off in Post Office.

I had my first collection like 2 days ago for 4 items. It felt a bit strange for them to collect and not scan the items or provide any paperwork, they just took everything and shove it in the van. I asked if he was going to scan them and I've been told that they would once they get back to the center/warehouse.

The collection should come up on the PDA and they scan the post at your home to show it's collected, if you do another collection I would push for them to scan it there rather than later, ask them to check the PDA for the collection, if they won't I would have a chat with the local DO.

Either the postie doesn't know what to do or trying to save time but either way it's not how it should work.

I'll book another collection for Monday and I will see if I can get him to scan it on the spot. Thanks.

I was surprised by the competitive price when I sent a parcel last week. I needed to ship a 44x42x60cm parcel weighing 10KG to Northern Ireland with £80 insurance and RM 48 did the job for £5.95 collected from my door.... on a Saturday!

You can't really argue with that!

    • The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

I have been incredibly impressed with the service. Whilst this offer is on I've been listing some bulkier items and those over 2KG to make the most of both the increased sales on ebay plus this low cost tracked option.

The RM48 and RM24 options have now been enabled on my private ebay account, previously they were greyed out. However, unlike buying direct from the RM site I can't see any way at all of cancelling the collection option. When I buy on RM I can remove collection just before I pay, but with ebay it does not seem to allow that- any suggestions?

  • Soolin, I did this just this morning.  I had about 10 parcels and I thought it best to take them to the DO.  When the postie knocked on my door I told her what I had done and she just cancelled them on her hand held device.  I got an email to say it had been cancelled.

It just seems a shame to give the postie a wasted journey . On Friday I went ahead and paid via eBay thinking I could cancel collection, but couldn’t, so Postie turned up Saturday and I felt quite awkward saying the stuff had already gone to the mail centre the day before.
