I never got the welcoma email, only a letter. When applying for the account I was told my swicth would be completed on the 28th. Today I have receievd a text saying my switch was not able to start as my account is not yet open?!01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0
03.07.2023 - CC (0%) £9,859 / Loan £0 / Savings £10,1100 -
There's little to be gained from doing so unless they pull the offer and give a deadline for claims. Switch date can sometimes slide, and if it does it is unclear what would happen. The incentive is normally paid really quickly, but never before the switch is complete.grumbler said:wiseonesomeofthetime said:Applied on Monday 14th. Email with account details received today. Sounds like they will be asking for further documents from you, but it must have been weeks since you applied, so perhaps some communication got lost in the post, or email address was entered incorrectly during application? The only email I received was after my application was provisionally accepted.jokono said:I never got the welcoma email, only a letter. Yes, it's been over two weeks and I only got that first letter. I opened an account for my husband last weekend, he got the letter AND the card this week. I'll call them on Monday to see what's going on. I'm not sure now I can use my details as referrer for his account if mine isn't 'open' yet. The letter I received had a sort code and account number in the header.01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0

Oh yes, I did get that one too. Card, PIN and welcome pack all arrived in the post before I received that email.bristolleedsfan said:masonic said:

There's plenty of time to figure that out, but I wouldn't take the message explaining your switch delay as gospel.jokono said:Yes, it's been over two weeks and I only got that first letter. Same here, for the OH's application, one proof of ID required.Yellowman said:
I too have been asked by Co-op Bank to provide a certified copy of one document (proof of identity).pfpf said:Really! both me and OH previous CoOp account holders at current address.
Applied on the 6th, confirmed on the 7th. received a letter today asking for ID. both of us need to provide proof of ID, not address.
no online method to do this, and needs to be certified. copied and certified? how on earth?
1st time ever ID required and iv'e got just about every account you could speak of.
anyone else?
just got to work out who to certify. does anyone have experience of whether they contact said person? our neighbor is a retired teacher, not "currently working".
I understand that banks / building societies provide this service (free?), but I have not tried this.
One of the items is a Benefits entitlement letter, not sure what that means, can they send the Tax Credits award letter and even though it is in joint names? Looking for something simple, without getting certified or going into a branch.
Anyone have any experience and do they send the ID documents back.0 -
I can't see any reason why joint names on a benefits letter would be an issue. As long as the applicant's name is on there and the stated address matches the one you applied with, you're good.alewin said:

I'm getting a bit confused with this one.
I have no referral given to me but could be the one that starts the chain.
So I need to open an account.
Can I ask my OH to apply at the same time as me and give them the referral? I've not done a referral based scheme and reading the t&Cs I cant get my head round it. Probably doesn't help its 12.45am and I can't sleep but still!
