Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Progress not perfection.:T100%through my 1% mortgage challenge. 100% through my pb challenge.
Vodafone Customer relations are ringing me back at 5.30. They offered me £10 compensation, I said I would accept but reserved the right to raise an independent complaint with the ICO, so they then refused me the £10 compensation and escalated my complaint. *shrug* They also have no idea who they have sold my debt on to, which is SUPER helpful of them.
I forgot I get a pay rise this month A whole £22.21 after tax... big bucks. Where shall I spend my newfound riches? (and will I even get them, seeing as my probation meeting is currently 10 days overdue??) It will probably go straight onto debt repayments.
I've been playing around with my spreadsheet all day as the work systems never revived themselves. My DFD with Stepchange is... 20 years from now, or 241 months. But I reckon if I make 0.5% payments towards my debt each month, that would be 200 months left. And as I'm at 6.2% that makes 188 months left as we stand now, which is already 4 years better. 0.5% a month is only finding an additional £26.87 a month towards my repayments.
If I put a 5k lump sum from the sale of the house towards paying debts, that becomes 166 months, which is 6 years better.
And if I put 10k lump sum from the sale of the house towards paying debts, that's 143 months, which is 8 YEARS OFF.
So it's really clear that overpayment is going to be the name of the game. I'm going to start by clearing the "low hanging fruit" but I can't start this month really, because I have the MOT next month, and I have to redeem my Ramsden's pawnbroker loans. So I need to find about £600 in the next 5 weeks. Although, once Ramsden's is paid, that's nearly £450 off my total. So every little helps. It's all steps in the right direction and that's what I have to remember. And if I can't afford to redeem them all at once, maybe I can redeem the most expensive item, and that way the overall loan will come down? I guess we will see what happens.
*edited because I suck at maths

With the Vodafone compensation, debt is officially 6.5% paid off!
I have £95.67 left of my budget on Monzo - and 12 days to go. The only shame is that the money isn't physically there! It's all tied up in future payments in this period of CM & CB. But that will be £210, and that is a lot more than I had budgeted for, thanks to me selling things etc. So when it comes in, I'm tempted to pay off £120 of my loans to family and friends, thus squaring the budget. Although, I spent it early last month, and it's left me in a pickle this month.
I had an email from Student Loans saying I was due a refund as I wasn't supposed to start making repayments on my Postgrad loan until next year, so I rang this morning to get the money back... a whole £12! So I'm doing so well. Haha!
I'm currently on the phone to Natwest to get a closed account credited to my Monzo, at a whole £17.15. (:
I've got £19.41 in my InboxPounds account, with another £8.50 to clear, and if I can finish another 180 levels of this stupid match 3 tiles game, another £20 there too, which makes nearly £50. So even without Vinted, just by being an argumentative sod, and following up on certain things, I'm getting better at looking after the pennies (:
I really did intend when I started this diary for it to be super proactive with me paying off loads and loads of debts all the time, and instead it seems to be more about me struggling on a day to day basis... But being here is definitely helping me keep focus.

Debt repayment is a marathon not a sprint 😉 Lots of twists and turns while you sort out a way that works for you and your family, but every teeny bit paid is a stride in the right direction 😃
Thanks for the tip @Valli - I have just signed up and made 4p in bonuses lol. It doesn't look like my postcode has won before so... Fingers crossed your luck rubs off on me!
I also signed up to Nielsen panel on my mobile and home PC, as well as the shop and scan thing, but its like 5190 points for £25 paypal... So going to take a while as I only have 700.
AND I finally rang stepchange and got my student grant overpayment, and vodafone added on to them. And I increased my payments by £30 (on the basis of my pay rise), and its taken my DFD down to December 2040, so 3 and a half years off! 💃 💃 💃 The nice man also said that if I get a lump sum, they will approach creditors for reduced/full and final settlements for me. So maybe that can be something to look at once we move.
