*whispers* @Natty68...you have two Wednesdays on the list!
Morning all. Decided to swap tomorrows rest day for today as I woke up achey and tired, so run tomorrow morning.
Need to hunt in the house for some fabric later, I have a sneaking suspicion I have thrown it out. With very short notice I have decided what to gift my friend for her birthday, so I need to get on it quick.
Also today I need to:
- Turn off Donnies heatlamp (and check on him)
- Feed frogs / Claude / Roaches
- Check which scorplings have & haven't eaten (I messaged the potential buyers last night, and one guy has now backed off.)
- Feed Bungalow and his fish
- Handle the noodleDebt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Today I must
- go up to the village for sewing thread, then make a start on the frog
- ham salad for lunch
- take Rosie for her walk: she refused to go out in the heavy rain yesterday, and I can't say I blame her!
- take DH to the surgery for his DVLA medical, and send emails/texts while I'm waiting for him
- sort tea = stew
- phone my eldest goddaughter after tea

Found the fabric! I did not throw it away! That means I can crack on with making my friends gift tomorrow evening. I may still need some bits, but I can get the bulk done.Have done:
- Turn off Donnies heatlamp (and check on him)
- Feed frogs / Claude / Roaches
- Check which scorplings have & haven't eaten
- Feed Bungalow and his fish
- Handle the noodle - He didn't come out of his cave yesterday, and is still there now. Will handle him later if he chooses to come out.
I also, put away the dry washing, shuffled the still wet stuff around and had a practice on my saxDebt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Hello all,
A challenging day at work. TGIF tomorrow.Rather than curling up in a ball as soon as I got home (DH is out for work for the evening) I actually put a load in the wm and also cleared the ironing pile. I can’t face the planned admin chores this evening.
Eggs on toast devoured. Now I need to get some serious knitting progress in. I’m struggling knitting with what feels like tree trunks, but at least it grows quickly.8 -
Cane toad crunched, munched and swallowed...my bank account spreadsheet is up to date.
I was MANY statements behind - erm ...July!
I've also sorted through the Aged P's Xmas card address labels. I shall print them tomorrow;.
Now that my working days are mainly spent at a laptop when I get home I just don't want to know...so I need to change that and/or ensure I allocate some day off time to keeping up with personal admin.
Started the day with HHI to clear the pile.
I have pegged two loads of washing out - didn't dry but the bedding is dry enough to iron and air and the towels and cleaning cloths are now on the maiden, drying.
I am now minding the house across the road. I have a key so am opening/closing curtains and leaving a light on, shifting post etc. I am flattered to have been asked/trusted. And I am parking on the drive (DD parks on mine).Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear9 -
Everything on my list of aspirations was accomplished today, apart from taking DH to the surgery. About half an hour before we should have left home, they rang and said that because of an incident (unspecified) at the surgery all face-to-face appointments were cancelled for the afternoon. DH's DVLA medical has been rescheduled for next Thursday.
Instead I managed to get a much needed half-hour of zzz, then I sent the emails as planned (but from my PC instead of my phone - much easier!), and this evening I have got ahead of myself by doing 4 of the 6 loads of washing that I want to hang out tomorrow. I don't usually try to wash bedding, towels and clothes all on the same day, but I've been waiting all week for a bit of sunshine and a breeze.
Tomorrow will be a sewing day, and hopefully I will be able to declutter the cane toad in one go.
G'night all xxx7 -
As expected the week has flown by with various things done which could be counted as flying but didn't actually involve much cleaning.
- holiday bags all unpacked and contents washed, other than wash bag which is gradually being emptied.
- Been swimming twice this week.
- Been to Mr A today.
- One report finished and sent off, the other will hopefully be finished tomorrow.
- Two assessments done this week. Every Wed and Thurs now booked with an assessment until 15 Dec, gulp. Also one private one in about 10 days time. That's lots of paperwork to prepare. Not to mention reports.
- All emails read more thoroughly after the glance-through they had while I was away. Most flagged 'actions' under way to some extent.
- Pension forecast read carefully, eek can I be that old? It is from my first job, which I stayed at for 18yrs then transferred the pension into my next job, which I left in 2002. A lot of thinking to do. Much research done this week on choosing a financial/pension advisor....finally selected one I liked the sound of for a number of reasons, then discussed with Mr N who realised I'd picked the same family business that he had used when he changed jobs 20yrs ago, so it must be fate.
- The red kite that spends a lot of time in the tree at the end of our garden has been well fed this week: a squirrel (found dead on the lawn), a mouse (snaptrapped in the kitchen) and a rat (snaptrapped on the patio where we think they are getting into the house). Squirrel is ironic as we had only, at the weekend, got a squirrel-proof bird feeder. We've rarely had squirrels before as most of the trees in our garden are further away from the bird feeder, but this one turned up recently and runs along the conservatory windowsill. Cute but between it, the rats and the pheasant, we were spending a fortune on bird food - we'd rather it went mainly to the birds.
- Happy to report that my Mum seems to be feeling a lot better, following the hospital scare while we were away, although her GP is proving unhelpful. Should we really be pleased that a receptionist should inform her (when she rang to ask why she hadn't heard anything after 4 days) that, despite the hospital consultant recommending that she wear a heart monitor for 3 days when she got home, "the doctor said it wasn't anything to worry about and as she has an appointment in 10 days time, it can be discussed then"? I felt that at least the doctor could have rung her himself, it wouldn't have taken any longer than a receptionist speaking to her. Mr N is also feeling better, having had what is probably labyrinthitis since Monday.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

Thank you for your kind thoughts, particularly Ionafan and Valli. The London event was fabulous and although I've only seen one review it was wondeful and name-checked our neighbour twice in glowing terms. He's thrilled, and made the time to come and see us in the restaurant beforehand and we then had a drink with him and his girlfriend and friends afterwards. The whole thing was well worth all the planning and arranging that we had to do to make sure I could cope with it all, but we'd been looking forward to it since January and I wasn't going to let a broken ankle spoil it for any of us.It did, however, knock me for six so although I made lunch for us yesterday and have restarted with the Foodbook remotely, that's been it for the last couple of days. I'm completely wiped out so dusting will, once again, very regretfully, have to wait.Sorry about your swing Kaz. I hope if it's been damaged by the wind that it's fixable.Congrats on the gestating grandbeast Piggers.Better is good enough.10
