The car is lovely, had a full service done on it on Monday which seemed like common sense - initially it was at the garage to sort a couple of niggles out (lights on or off that needed rectifying) and despite me batting it down the motorway and back on Sunday to meet my friend, the battery died at the garage and they had to replace it!  Anyway at least now I know when it was last serviced, rather than guessing.  Still waiting for the log book to arrive so I can change my plates over but I'm loving it, and when I dropped the old car's log book in at the dealer's on Saturday it turned out that that had had to have a new clutch in it, so I definitely dodged a bullet by getting rid of it.  I had a suspicion the clutch might have been going, but then you also adapt your driving to what you think are your car's 'foibles' and anyway, given that they stamped the service book but it doesn't appear they actually DID a service, I don't feel too bad even though I didn't deliberately mislead them or anything.

Had a free afternoon off work today - we had our annual team 'away-day' (on the top floor of our building in the posh rooms they don't like to let out for free) and lunch together, and then our manager said we were to take the afternoon off as a thank you for all our hard work, which was nice
