Hi all, returning from another sizeable absence and am now trying to catch up. Very sadly I had to spend my savings and didn't keep track so I need to start over again. I have a new tin which is a lovely Pannettone tin from last Christmas, so that should hopefully keep me motivated! £7.60 in there so far and hopefully still have time to save up a decent amount before declaration day xSealed Pot Challenge 2023 # 011

Afternooooooon pottersssssss
I have a little bit of shrapnel to throw in my tin, am I right in thinking that the virtual sealed pot no longer runs so we can include it in SPC's total? I have a savings account running along side my pot as I tend to use more card than cash as i'm trying to get the free companion voucher from American Express and I tend to throw any fleabay or V*nted sale money in there rather than take it out. Both our banks have shut downso virtual is a bit easier for me right now.

Hi everyone,
It's been a while (well, a few weeks), but life has kept me busy with work and such.
It's great to see your posts again Sue, you're back!! (big virtual hug).
Not much has gone in my pot lately unfortunately, but my roundups with Natwest in nearing £60!!! Best thing I ever did with a bank account, and I really do not miss the change that gets took from my bank card lol.
Mum's house sale is, I think nearing moving a bit forward. My solicitor is slow and is really brief in her answers when I ask questions. Unfortunately the council tax exemption on the empty house ends in 8 weeks and I am dreading the new bill when it arrives.
Anyway, the weekend is fast approaching, I'll be back in a few days hopefully
Take care all

Evening all, welcome back @Sue-UU
Potted 3 x £2 coins today, having accumulated them in my purse.
My Plum account is up to £427.14, my Chase round-ups are up to £15.42 and my cashback total is up to £85.69 and I have reached my cashback threshold this month so £15. I don't think I mentioned at the time that I was very fortunate a few months ago, when my mum gave me some money. She had helped my brother out during his house move with what amounted to the same sum, and decided instead of asking him to repay her, to give me the same amount. Which was a lovely surprise. That is now in my high interest Chase savings account, but I can work out which is that and which is SPC money. On the subject of the high interest, I'm going to transfer my Plum savings over as that account doesn't get any interest and Chase is going up to 3.8% interest on Monday.
The money my mum gave me has allowed me to have a little spree - new, much needed mattress and cooker, and - finally - a garden shed for mebut otherwise I'm leaving it alone. I've also set up a weekly standing order to my savings account so it is always being contributed to, along with my savings from the old £1-a-day challenge.
AND, I know it's not moneysaving - as Martin would say - but after one of the recent emails where he urged anyone needing to, to apply for a 0% BT card as most deals are ending or being reduced, the 0% transfer Gods smiled on me and I was accepted and able to clear the bulk of my credit card balances. Ironically, in clearing one balance, THAT card also offered a 0% balance transfer so I could clear the remaining balances to that. I've committed to the latter for a year at 0% instead of 24 months with an annual fee, so technically I'm not *saving* much for the next 12 months but I am paying out less each month and I figure it's a bit of short-term pain for longer-term financial relief.
I'm also bagging up the coins from the giant Coke bottle as it's barely getting added to since we don't use much cash, so it's just collecting dust.
Take care and stay well all xSPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

£2 potted 😊 That's brilliant @rancid-a that your round-ups with Natwest have reached £60.00 - I turned mine off for some reason that I can't remember, but I think I'll turn them back on!
As far as I remember @jakes-mum, Westie is still running the virtual sealed pot, I joined for this year and then did a disappearing act which Westie is very used to me doing😅 I'vd been struggling to save anything but the round-ups should help.
