How lovely to have a return to summer, although it's been blinking hard work! After 2 days cutting our hedges we had a day off then traipsed up to my in laws to cut theirs. Phew, very glad that's over for another year 😓. Now for a bit of tidying in the flower beds and we'll be ready for the autumn.

Another fiver in the pot this week. Keep safe and well everyone, cooler weather is on the way for those who dislike the heat 😊

    Morning pottersssssssssssssssssss

Roughly £20 in various change and notes went in the pot last night after returning from our holiday, didn't bother to count it, just chucked it in :)
Silver tin is feeling really heavy right now, woohoo!

Good Afternoon all SPCers!! Oh what a week it's been and not much better again here today! 🥵 Roll on Wednesday when the cooler air from the north arrives. 😊
I was hoping for at least a shower today. 😕

You must have been sweltering doing all that hedge cutting, Siju! Neither T or I can bear the heat so we did all the jobs in the morning and relaxed more in the afternoon.
Luckily the nights didn't affect us too much, but we've windows both sides so it certainly helps.

    Brilliant with the £5 potted!
Be careful not to get heat exhaustion out doing the gardening.

Hello again jakes-mum! I hope you've had a really lovely holiday.
Well done with all you managed to pot and good to hear it's weighing heavy as we approach the 26th October!

    Sue

NB folks: Declaration date for SPC 16 is 26TH October 2023!   BEFORE if you wish BUT NO LATER PLEASE!

Still potting regularly and have also nearly completed the 365 day penny challenge.
I tested positive for covid for the first time on Friday and have felt absolutely terrible. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.
Be as careful as you can out there, the virus is still very much around.

  • I'm still potting too, seeing how much I can get in for the last 6 weeks of the challenge. Today I have had a survey pay out of £5.46 so I have added that to the pot.

So sorry to hear it's finally caught up with you @AntoMac...take care of yourself. I feel like it's just a matter of time before it catches up with us all. I hope you recover swiftly.

Another £5 in the pot. Stay safe and well everyone xx

  • Oh AntoMac, I'm sorry to hear it's finally caught you.  Hope you feel better soon.
It's been an absolutely rubbish year for us in many ways with lots of expenses and I've felt too down to contribute to the thread.  Today, though, I thought I would just pop my head around the door to see if everyone else is ok  :)
Our only village bank closed it's doors this year so we are struggling to get cash with the result there is nothing in my sealed pot  :s  I have, however, been selling on fleabay over the year and keeping the money aside and that is what I will declare in October.  It won't be a lot, but it will be better than nothing.
Hope you and T are well, Sue, I'm sending hugs your way x

I kind of thought I must have some kind of magic immunity @siju - How wrong I was!
Sorry to hear that things haven’t been great for you this year @little_sweetie
I am sure there will be happier days to come.
I reckon we had 8 banks and building societies on my High St when I moved here. Now we’re down to 2. I do still at least manage to get access to plenty of coins for the pot

Good Evening SPCers!! Thankfully yesterday (Wednesday) arrived and it's now far more bearable. 😊 I know it'll go up again a bit bit I'm happy to wait with the temperature as it is for now,but we certainly had some rain on Tuesday! :)£10 transferred over to SPC account

So very sorry to know you finally have Covid, Ant, I really do hope it doesn't last too long. Our youngest granddaughter had it 3 weeks ago and felt quite rough for about a week, but with some folk it's longer some it's just like a cold, but yours certainly doesn't like the latter, so sorry Ant. It's a nasty virus, but I hope you're very much better soon. ❤️
Excellent potting, and good for you with the 365 challenge!

Another survey payout, LMD, you're doing brilliantly with your surveys with Prolific!
Very well done with your potting in general >:) too!

Let's hope you're able to keep free from Covid, Siju, such an evil virus! >:)
Great going with another £5!! 😀 Fingers crossed you'll keep free from Covid, do your best!!

Thank goodness to see you at last, little_sweetie! 😯 I honestly thought there was something really wrong with either yourself A or G, but thankfully not. However, blue skies soon follow your grey ones and help you feel so much better. ☺️
I'm really sorry you've felt so low for so long, but I really hope life will become a little easier for you as time goes by. T and I are both well and have gained another darling g-granddaughter, our eldest grandson and his partner, she already has 2 daughters and they adore our Alex which is really wonderful for them all.
It's good to hear you're still able to sell on fleabay and it'll be wonderful to include it all as your SPC Total.
Love and hugs to you both and I so hope you'll both be well soon.

    Sue

Another penny of roadkill potted. Not long to go now. I’m very happy how this challenge has gone this year. More travel savings potted today as well
