Hello, I’d like to join please. I’ve been throwing coins (and the occasional note…) into a pot since New Year and hope to do this as much as possible with an aim of getting to £100+ by the time I open the pot in October. 

I’m really watching what I’m earning, spending, saving etc this year in different ways and look forward to seeing what I can manage.

These last months I’ve been making a note of money saved as well as income and spending, I’d like to include this in my savings pot, so like today I didn’t pay for bus fare/use my car/pay for car parking, so I’d like to ‘translate’ that into money going into my pot.

I’d like to keep this separate from other MSE challenges if that’s okay, for example I’m doing the 1p challenge through online banking so wouldn’t want to count this. 

Thanks very much. I’d like to pay cash from my pot into bank as and when and will keep signature updated/pop back and update, before declaring as requested.

Sue will no doubt allocate you a number very soon.
I am similar with saving money from not having to travel by bus/train etc when I work from home. It was my main source of Sealed Pot income for the last challenge.
I’m also doing the 365 day 1p challenge and will declare my total as part of this challenge.
Welcome along and hopefully your pots will soon add up.

Bit late but Happy new year all, decide to run two pots this year as don't seem to gets much cash these days ,so going to do a coin one and a digital one .take care all

You'll find your No above in your welcome and on the 2nd Post of Page 1, and please read through the 1st post as it'll let you know exactly how to save with the challenge. We always empty our pots and declare what's in them in October, please make a note of this year's date: 26th October 2022.

Please pop your SPC No on your signature as it's a great help. To do so please go to your profile Photo, top right, click, then go to Signature Settings, lower and on the left, be sure to SAVE before fleeing!

You save in the very best way possible for you! Even though many of us save via other challenges on MSE, we declare the Total of them all as we're the only ones that regularly save all the Totals, as Ant has said. Enjoy all your saving and very good news on those miles walked!

I think we're all having similar problems of not being able to save as much cash since Covid so using the 2 pots sounds a good way of saving!

I promise I will visit more regularly. This morning I potted £7 in £1 coins. I realised today that I have not seen a £2 for absolutely months!! I used to get a lot of them in the self-service tills, but I honestly don't think I have seen one for about a year

All the loose change left in my purse tipped into my pot tonight, plus added an extra £1 as I felt I had to make up for the moment of weakness in buying doughnuts....... (which were delish)

Potting is going well (so far) as I’ve gone back to the “old way” of using cash, there’s no hollow sound now when it goes into the jar 😊

sams247 I love a good doughnut, for me it has to be S….burys jam doughnuts, haven’t had one in a long while 😋 and haven’t found one to match them yet in Oz, not a fan of the KK ones (must be my age).

We get a lot of Members saying £2 coins are either scarce or just not about like they used to be, so it's not just you who's missing them. Maybe jakes-mum is the only one of us hoarding them! Sadly she only comes on the thread a couple of times a year these days!! 🤔 

So you promise you'll visit the thread more often, I'll hold you to this date mind!! 😠 BTW the Declaration Day from now on is on the DATE I put at the bottom of every post of mine, but not a day after, ok! 🤨

Very well done with your money potted, sams247!! However, you bought doughnuts??!! 😳 You're quite right in feeling you had to the extra £1 as penance, whatever next!! 

Hi mummytummmy, I can't say I blame you in using a pot that clinks when the cash goes in. I can't believe that you were over here in the UK prior to Christmas and didn't buy a doughnut!! Or weren't you anywhere near a S....burys?! Don't they have decent ones in Ozzie land then?! What are KK?!
