Our Honeywell CH controller screen appears to be fading out, can you get these controllers repaired ? We have tried numerous sets of batteries but it appears that is not the problem.

Quite possibly if you are DIY handy. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273577727401
Whether it is worth paying somebody else ...?
Or you could view it as an opportunity to upgrade your controls (T6/T6R or Wiser etc.).

Already checked a couple out on eBay but as a woman I don't have the confidence to try the repair myself, I would probably snap something off LOL !! I can't believe in this recycling age we can't get a central heating company that would repair these units rather than we all throw them away !!BUFF said:Quite possibly if you are DIY handy. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273577727401

Whether it is worth paying somebody else ...?You are paying for a link to a video plus a six page guide. A few other youtube videos available for free. One example -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuKFcgPk_b0Personally, I'd use it as an opportunity to upgrade to a programmable thermostat so that you can have different temperatures throughout the day/week. Depending on your current schedule and how the replacement thermostat is set up, there is potential to save 10-15% on gas.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Which brands are they ? I can't seem to find any that set 7 different days with 6 different times of day and separate temperatures like ours which is a CM927. It even has a holiday programme.FreeBear said:BUFF said:Quite possibly if you are DIY handy. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273577727401

You do have this opportunity with this thermostat (6 variable intervals per day), 7 days.FreeBear said:

That is exactly what we have at the moment and the screen has faded out ! That's why I would prefer to get it mended rather than replace it with another one.grumbler said:

My bad. Didn't realise the CM927 was a programmable thermostat.grumbler said:

Yes it is. I have now found a small electrical shop and asked if they could repair it. He said he had never done one before but he would give it a go. The way I look at it, it is for the bin anyway if he can't as it is unusable at the moment. If he can do it, he says it will only cost £10 !! So got to be worth a try don't you think? I now wonder if other electrical repair shows do this.FreeBear said:
