Good morning all. I've had a couple of days of really good sleep which makes a change because it's been pretty broken and awful recently - tossing and turning all night.
I've already made the bed and put some washing in the laundry basket. I'll put it on in a bit. Made myself an egg and cheese muffin as a little treat because we had no bread in so I had to go to the local store across the street to get something for it; saw the muffins at two packs for £1.20 and thought yes, that'll be a good option! I've been getting a sneaky McDonalds egg and cheese McMuffin occasionally so it's a bit cheaper and means I haven't used any petrol today (need to fill up tomorrow after I get paid).
I've still got the remnants of sorting out my underwear/cosy socks drawer laying on the bedroom floorfrom when I had a burst of energy on Saturday (Monday and Tuesday were write offs and we were out all day Sunday) so I'll class that as the 'floordrobe' part 1! The clean laundry is mounting up in the back bedroom again - it's a real problem area for us, especially in the colder months and with trying to use the tumble dryer less; it all just gets shoved on an airer and left for a few days before being moved onto the bed to make way for the next load.
I'll pop round and do the bins - except the big kitchen one as it's too heavy for me to lift out- this morning too. OH will do that tonight!
I'll have a go at hoovering but might leave that for OH on Saturday when I'm working.
I have a phone call from a physio to talk about my back at some point today but she didn't tell me when (my fault, I forgot to ask - it's a colleague and she's doing me a favour by fitting me in very short notice!) so I'm anxious checking my phone every 20 seconds too.

Morning all. Wet and grey outside, but it's warm in here and smells of spices
YL, you are most definitely a swan x
Hope you get your back sorted, kiss x
Up (too) early again before 5.00 this morning, but I have used the time since to swap an uncooked pudding into the SC, put two cakes in the oven, empty the DW, weigh out and mix the ingredients for the other two cakes, make breakfast (and eat it) without making a mess, swap the cakes over, get things I need later out of the freezer, WUDUPA, S&S kitchen as far as possible, and pack up books for DS2. I also asked DH which of us is going to buy the tickets for tomorrow's outing and he offered to do so- I shall be paying for lunch.
Other jobs on my list for today:
- FUPA clean sheets
- wash and dress
- Chr cake check at 11.00
- pudding swaps at 1.00 and 9.00
- fill and ice the coffee cakes
- update a spreadsheet
- send emails/make phonecalls
- update the list of books and email it to a few more people who might be interested in taking some off my hands
- wrap and pack all cakes
- possibly deliver some papers
- Rosie's walk
- find a recipe for flatbread to go with the chicken curry tonight, because we had rice yesterday
I was planning to get some more sewing done, but that was before I decided to make cakes and puddings. Frankly, I think that list is quite long enough, and I shall need to catch up on sleep at some point!

2 loads of washing done, the rest can wait until Sunday when I can put my uniform in.
Phone call with the physio was good, she suspects a bit of hypermobility which I've suspected for a while which may make pregnancy a bit more fun down the roadbut she's given me some exercises and advice so hopefully that helps.
I've tidied away the last of the clothes that don't fit me anymore and am waiting for a delivery from Matalan with a few new bits in!
Bins still need doing but part of what the physio was saying was don't stay in one position too long, so I'm having a bit of lunch (leek and potato soup and a crumpet) and then in about half an hour I'll go around and do them to break up sitting too long. I need to start prepping the slow cooker pasta bake but will do that around the same time.

Kazwookie thank you, you've reminded me to dig out my poppy pin. I found the dogs collar poppy over the weekend, when we tidied up the store room

Well the pasta bake in the slow cooker is a massive fail and I've wasted 300g on pasta, a jar of sauce and various vegetables. The recipe said cook it on low for 4 hours, it was on for less than 2 and the pasta is so soggy, the veg isn't cooked at all and the sauce is watery and tasteless (put the right amount of liquid in too - and I used stock not plain water!)
not sure what to do for dinner now. It's absolutely foul.

Aww Kissmenow hope you managed to salvage it. I find a lot of slow cooker recipes need a bit of cornflour mixed in water to thicken them x
Iona not sure whether its a swan, duck, or other water bird but there is definitely some frantic paddling going on x
Not a bad day working from home. Still anxious and wobbly but plodding on. Day off tomorrow.
As for flying, I have put clean washing away, emptied and refilled DW but thats about it. Fire lit and feet up now.8 -
KMN.. I NEVER put pasta in the SC, it is just nasty. My MIL did it once and it was inedible, I do have food issues though... It won't help you now but can you pick out the sloppy pasta and cook fresh pasta in a pan and put the sauce/veg in another pan and boil off some of the water. Throw in a handful of lentils to soak up some of the water and some gravy granules or a packet mix to thicken it? You can also use packet mash to thicken sloppy SC food which works really nicely.. just add powder very slowly to avoid over thickening. I also never add extra water to the slowcooker unless it looks a bit too thick which is very rare. We live and learn
