A bottle of vodka.  And an icepack (a little better than a pack of frozen peas, especially given the fact I don't have frozen peas).
    How is that odd?

Until the Mrs does a clear out the freezer often has gin, rye whiskey and other spirits in there for cocktails like martini and Manhattan as its just easier to have the main volume cold from the get go than trying to chill room temp spirit with ice which then gets chucked.

Nothing too odd in our freezer (I think spirits is in the normal range) but the Mrs does have the habit of getting distracted and putting things in odd places... did find a can of deodorant in the fridge once after the Mrs unpacked the shopping in which she'd bought it.

Just to be pedantic (and patriotic for a minute) - whiskey doesn’t belong in a freezer. It’s meant to be served neat at room temp, with a tiny wee sliver of ice that should melt almost instantly.

But whisky you can do whatever you like with 😝

Patriotic? Where are you from? Whisky in Scotland. Whiskey in Ireland and across the pond.

Whiskey is Ireland and US, Whisky is Scotland, Canada, Japan and most the rest of the world.

Some whiskey/whisky is good and deserves to be drunk almost neat...some whiskey/whisky, no matter your nationality, isnt as good but is fine in a cocktail such as a Manhattan

If you are patriotic because of being from the US then surely you are equally patriotic about the cocktails they have created with their produce.

Camelbak bladders live in our freezer! Keeps them fresh between uses.

I also keep various cosmetics in the fridge.

I’m Irish, not American. I was a bit flippant really, some whisky is very drinkable.

And I’m certainly a cocktail fan.

I used to keep film in my freezer, never got round to developing/ printing at home.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • A bottle of vodka.
    Isn't the thick oiliness great?!

    (Whisky)
Are you seriously keeping whisky in the freezer?

    Ohhh yesssss.
    And only taken neat.
Obviously not a quality whisky and you know nothing about it.

Gasp! Why don't you just take that sliver of ice, and plunge it straight in to my heart.

Tbh, it's been a while since I've put a bottle in t'freezer, but still place the odd glass in there for later. A different experience - a wee sip of the oily liquid, and left to warm on the tongue. True ice and fire. Wonderful.

I really don't see why people care so much about how other people drink a whisky!  Why should anyone expect that the only way to enjoy something is the way that they do themselves?  It is a highly personal thing and often includes both taste and a wider set of experiential attributes.  Sipping neat whisky by the fire while the gales (...or Gaels!) thrash outside is as valid an experience as a having it as a long, ice-laced sun-downer on a tropical stoep.  From the economic perspective, a sale is a sale!
