Quick update, not too much to report really. Saturday was spent visiting in-laws as it was DFIL's birthday. As usual it was a bit of a trial as he was in is normal negative, moaning mode. He complained about everything it is possible to complain about and we were both exhausted when we got home. Sunday was a supposed to be a day of rest, but ended up doing a few jobs in both house and garden.

Yesterday was L!d! as I had vouchers to spend. Pleased to say I used the £5 off £60 voucher, and some 15% off ones, stocked up on their hand cream while it was on offer, as I really like that. Also they had some F**ry fabric softener and also laundry liquid, on a brilliant offer, and that is the one I use and normally have to go to Mr S for it, as L!d! rarely stock brand names. So very pleased there and won't need to go shopping next week apart from any fresh veg we need. After that I had dance class and then met a friend for coffee….their treat, and we swapped some books.

Today I have walked down the local CS with a box of donations, and the decluttering is continuing, I am hoping to get some more done this afternoon. I have also made up some natural weed killer for the weeds on front patio, and got a load of washing drying in the sunshine. Can't believe how nice its been here so far today.

My selling on V*nt*d seems to have slowed down. Made another £5 yesterday, but only got 2 things left on there now, as I deleted a few and took to CS as they had been on there so long and even reduced right down they didn't sell Think I will probably come across some more good stuff to put on later though.

P/fc still doing ok this month.

Got an email from GW and they say they have refunded the money that they took after I had cancelled, so that's on its way. Got a few bulbs to put in garden, but think I won't have time today now, so that is a job for tomorrow morning when I get back from the gym.

So off to do some more jobs now. Tonight's dinner is from freezer, some minced pork and veg that I did last week. I'll add a bit of chilli to it maybe to spice it up a bit, so DH doesn't think he's eating the same meal as last week…LOL

your DFIL sounds a bit like my dad - he is definitely a glass half empty person. Actually I think my dad is a glass almost completely empty person. I find it exhausting too.

Yes DFIL is definitely an empty glass person. He complains constantly about everything....the weather, Govt, immigration, energy prices, bin men, neighbours, supermarkets, delivery couriers, Drs. Its just never ending

Quick & very late update today

Good day. Apart from ordering some probiotics, through TCB for cash back, it was an NSD.

Went to gym. Donated 4 books to the free book table, but didn't find any of interest to bring home. But I do have 5 still to read.

Got some bulbs in the garden, still more to do. Did a bit of gardening tidying. Toms still ripening out there, but not for much longer I don't think. Will probably bring them all in soon to finish off indoors

Sorted undies drawer & cut up an old cotton cami top for polishing. Listened to an interesting podcast while doing it & made a note of a book I want to look for. Will check library first, then 2nd hand options.

Did a few P/fc studies & cashed out nearly £8. Looks like I might make £100 before the end of the month.

Tomorrow is DH's payday, so money will be transferred to savings/debt pots.

We have a couple of days away Sat to Mon, for our wedding anniversary, so need to throw some stuff in a bag tomorrow. Its all paid for from the holiday pot & just need to buy cheap food for Sun & Mon lunch...there appears to be a Gr*gg$ near by, so that looks promising.…lol. And DMIL says she is sending us a monetary gift, so that will be put to good use & not squandered.

So I got most of the jobs done, but still got the bulbs to plant and some of the inside windows. I did however walk to the village and pop into the library to see if they could get a book I have just heard about on a podcast, but no, they can't get hold of it, so will have to see if its is likely to be available 2nd hand anywhere, Doubtful as its quite a new book I think, so may have to wait a while and maybe the library will have it eventually.

I also managed a quick wash, even though it didn't get pegged out until 3pm, it will be dry I should think by bed time, as its only thin stuff.

Found a card I had stashed away for my friend who I am seeing tomorrow. Its not her birthday until Oct 9th, but won't be seeing her again before that, so will give it to her tomorrow. Also got a book to pass onto her, that I know she will love, all about mindfulness in gardening. 2 things she is very interested in.

So that's about it really, not much more has happened, but I do like it when its like this…just plodding along. Once we get home after our weekend away, I will review the finances and see what's what. We seem to be doing ok so far this budget period, so should all be fine, and then maybe I can work out a few tweaks for next period.

Off to check dinner now, as the SC smells lovely.

So we got home yesterday lunchtime…how I hate morning traffic on the M6. Had a good break away and did us good. Came back with £40 in my purse, so that was good. Will use that to buy groceries this week and then transfer money from my housekeeping pot into one of the savings pots.

Quite a few more tomatoes ripened over the weekend, and a whole 3 raspberries. Also a couple of peppers still doing well and looks like some more growing, but how well they will do now I don't know. Need to read up a bit more about them I think. Brought some toms into ripen indoors. Hope to get out in the garden this week and cut/dig out the remaining toms and check on the potatoes and have a general tidy up. The front garden could do with the dead weeds pulling up after I put my home made weedkiller down last week and see what I can do to make it look a bit more bright over the winter. DH keeps talking about painting the front window sill and the bits underneath and maybe the facias, but can't see him getting round to it now before the winter….but I can try and persuade him.

A while back we started with a new window cleaner, who was cheaper than the other one I had tried. So far he is turning out to be very unreliable, not turning up when he says he will and not making a good job TBH. I am tempted to go back to the other one and see if I can re-negotiate. What does anyone else pay for window/UPVC cleaning?

Well not much more to report today, so best get on with a few things and need to walk down to DDs and pick up a parcel she took in for me when we were away.

Hopefully get to the gym tomorrow.

Our window cleaner charges £9 for 2 bay windows, door and side panels, 5 normal windows and patio doors. We always give him £10 and don't ask for change. He does them on average every 6-8 weeks which is enough. He uses a water system rather than the traditional way. I'm always happy with the results. He also cleans out the gutters if we ask him to and he doesn't charge extra.

Oh my word, that's cheap. Its a lot dearer here. Our old guy used to charge £10 for about the last 15 years with no increase, then just vanished off the face of the earth. Found anoother company that said £45 every 2 months including frames. Thought that was dear, so tried an old chap my friend used, for £20, but he turned out to be unreliable, only been twice since start of May, and last time said he could only do downstairs ones that day. He also wasn't cleaning properly.

Just messaged the expensive company & asked to negotiate, as I saw them doing next doors. He has knocked it down to £35 including all frames & upvc. That will be every 8 weeks, so not too bad. That's for 8 windows including a bay, and 2 doors with panels. And our back bedroom is hard to get to as we have a kitchen extenstion.
