or it still can’t be released far away from me?2 -
Hearing is tomorrow and haven’t heard from DCBL or the court so I believe it’s all going ahead tomorrow. The time I was given is 10am so arrive there for 9:30? Bring printed versions of my WS and DCBL WS?Bullet points with points I want to make and make a point of their supplementary evidence being sent after the deadline or no point?
I’ve read somewhere on the forum that Cardiff isn’t very consumer friendly and hard to win a case there so I got worried. The post was from 2019 though. Couldn’t find any information if they got better now. Any idea if that’s still the case? Always good to know if the judge is more likely to be on my side.1 -
Always good to know if the judge is more likely to be on my side. That's not how justice works!Hearing is tomorrow and haven’t heard from DCBL or the court so I believe it’s all going ahead tomorrow. The time I was given is 10am so arrive there for 9:30?Just phone the court now to check, which might save you a wasted day/journey tomorrow. UKPC/DCB Legal so very infrequently get as far as a hearing.Bring printed versions of my WS and DCBL WS?Yes. You need three copies of your own WS, in case the judge and/or the DCB Legal advocate doesn't have it in front of them. PITA, but you need to have all bases covered.Bullet points with points I want to make and make a point of their supplementary evidence being sent after the deadline or no point? That will keep you on track to cover the major points. A supplementary WS can be submitted at almost any time prior to the hearing, so I don't think there's much mileage in making any running on this. But, first that phone call ....Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I know that’s not how justice works but few people mentioned Luton, Manchester etc were more consumer friendly, that’s all I meant. And Cardiff being more likely to decide in favour of claimant…
Just called the court and as far as they are aware it’s still going as planned from 10:00 until 11:30.So if the rep from DCBL is a different person to who wrote the WS can I question them about that? In my WS I also point I would like to question the ticketer, which I doubt they’d attend, can I point that out as well?Few pages back fellow people from the forum mentioned that they couldn’t after the deadline, some advised me not to send one in return as well. But maybe I didn’t understand them right. My case was meant to be decided on papers first, but on the day the judge decided to be in person and gave me a day for hearing, tomorrow.0 -
It will be interesting to see what a Cardiff judge says and does. It does not mean they will side with the claimant
It will be a local rep that attends who may well want to chat to you first.
SAY NO THANKS
Two weeks ago in another area, a judge said that he was fed up with these ridiculous UKPC claims and said it was to extort money, so maybe word has spread to other courts. Please do not use this info
Tonight, do a crib sheet so you don't forget the points you want to raise.
This can include the word "DAMAGES" and for the rep to explain this ... DCBL never has ???
And why has Yasmin Mia SIGNED this as a statement of truth ?
Good luck tomorrow2 -
Thank you all for the help! A silly one before todays hearing…do I need the letter about my hearing today with me? I have my WS with hearing number on it and passport for ID.0

I lost. The judge found there was a contract which I was In breach of, but ruled out the £60 added debt recovery fees: awarded them £4,80 interest and gave me 28 days. The rep for the claimant advised me to ring up DCBL and pay them?0
-
Sorry to hear that @teddyinwonderland, but at least the added fees were removed.
Well done for trying and putting up a fight against the gross injustice that is the PPC scam!3 -
It was definitely worth the fight. Is it the court or DCBL I need to pay to avoid a CCJ on my file? Don’t trust DCBLs rep at all.1
