The lack of understanding from EDF that this is even a possibility led me to think it may be affecting more customers than just me.0 -

I'd use the "complaint resolution" email that Robin provided above if I were you. Don't expect it to get dealt with any time soon, but it will eventually get some form of response, and should eventually get your situation sorted out.2

EDF have 5.2 million customers, so 0.01% will be several thousand customers.
EDF gas bills do not show units for the readings, so it isn't very easy to check without looking at kwh conversion formula.0 -
That certainly looks like a ft³ v m³ error to me - at April prices for my region and my own tariff, I get that to be a bill amount of around £270 - somewhere in line with the x2.83 error. At my current calorific value, I make that should be about 3015 kWh.
I wonder - and others who understand this more than me will hopefully comment - did you submit the leading 0 at the start of your submitted meter reads? I think ft³ meters only have 4 digits and your bill is showing 4 digit readings. I think you need to submit the leading 0 too.0 -
You say meter was replaced in 2018 when it would have read 00000. It now reads 05736 so annual consumption about 1400 m3 ie approx 15,500 kWh. Well over average and with well over average comes well over average bills.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Do you maybe mean that the invoice does not show if the unit is FT3 or M3? That are not units.
You can see if it is ft3 by checking if there is the 2.83 in the formula. A m3 meter should in the region of m3 x 11.2, so easy to check.
To be honest, I don't think it would help most people if they would write the meter type on the invoice, for most it would be meaningless.
