Honey_Bear said:FLYLADY SECRET SANTAI've been decluttering Inbox Messages left right and centre over the past year so I no longer have a record of what the rules are. I think they were that we shouldn't spend any more than £5, but postage is now really expensive for large letters that are more than an inch thick so if we can keep the gifts small that will help. Prices, and dimensions of letters, large letters and parcels here.
It gets a bit stupid when the postage costs more than a small gift, and the same applies to Christmas cards. We shall all need thinking caps!
Last weekend I set myself three challenges, to be completed within 10 weeks:
- to lose at least 1 stone in weight
- to do and cross off at least 10 things from my Toots list
- to go out for coffee with friends/family at least 10 times.
This week I have probably not lost any weight, but I haven't been picking between meals (and I'm not due to weigh myself until Monday morning)
I have already crossed two things off my Toots list, and by the end of the afternoon I will have completed a third
For most of the time I have been stuck at home or at exciting (not!) medical appointments (both mine and DH's), but during half term I have two days out to look forward to
It's just a different approach that gives me a target.
I can't claim to have done more than basic flying, but the house has stayed tidy and I'm pretending I can't see any dust
Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend xxx

Pop to the shops done, lunch had and now I'm chilling for a bit with a computer game before I start on the clean clothes mountain in the back bedroom. Thanks for the advice re: sentimental stuff. If I was pushed I'd have to say the greenhouse needs to stay but the other bits could go - it's just how to get rid of them!£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January9

Kissmenow I read the Kon Marie book a long time ago and some of it is a bit silly, but there is a lot in there that makes sense, particularly the idea that you dont need physical objects to remember happy times. I have a space at the top of my wardrobe where I keep a few sentimental bits but if I didnt actually have the room for something then I wouldnt keep it.
We have just lost one of the remote controls which resulted in looking under the sofa and bookcase - not a pretty sight. The hoover needs to come out. Wet day tomorrow so flying then.
Have been for a walk, and trailed around after DH while he costed a job. Home now. Its a lovely day out there.11 -
Evening everyone x
Valli - hope you are ok after your treatment. Glad you had a window seat this time.
House henried
bathroom cleaned
boys’ room tidied - I have removed 4 large boxes. Need to take a bin bag full to charity shop. Room has become a dumping ground and DS2 is planning a visit so I need to get on top of it.
10 mins garden done. It must have been windy as there were lots of small branches and twigs from the oak tree.

pigpen said: Raphael .. nice to see a returner.. welcome home!! How are things??? This is so weird.. I am just trying to find a turtle costume for my grandpink.. a sea turtle not a ninja turtle..I'm doing good! I've spent the last couple of years over the pandemic collecting animals! I now have a mini zoo full of reptiles and creepy crawlies
(My scorpion just had babies, so I have another 14 mouths to feed) It's been an interesting few years.

HB.. Thank you for taking up the mantle.. I don't think I have EVER stuck to the 'budget' I am so naughty!.. buying gifts is one of my favourite things I love spreading joy. I was gleeful over my giftee last year.
KMN.. Greenhouse stays the rest to charity shop.Raphael.. I still do not approve of non-furry pets lol. My daughter may move in with you. She absolutely adores reptiles. She spent 2 hours playing with baby bearded dragons in the exotic pet shop just around the corner. There were about 20 in a large tank and they all kept running over and pushing each other out of the way to look at her.
1x WM.. or maybe 2.. I can't remember
2x DW..
I have some parcels to package and get sorted for Monday collection.. and some bits to list.. 2 binbags worth..
I am hoping to get some house tidied this week and at least 2 tip runs.. I want to get rid of AT LEAST 6 binbags of stuff.. that is what is likely to come in at Christmas so I need to make space for it. I want to get some swing bin liners and bag the Happyland/playmobile etc into sets to fling. Maybe move a chest of drawers into the girls room and a wardrobe upstairs. Though I may not bother.. I shall think upon it.
I want to sort through the girls clothes and make space for their winter gear..
I need to get them a new desk and rehome their little desk..

Count me in for both Secret Santa and card swap please.
I feel fine apart from a headache thanks for your good wishes
having looked at the weather report I ran all the bedding through the WM overnight and got it line dried today plus extras.
been to bee and queue for wallpaper samples and decorating bits. Minor crisis with the aged ps. To my shame I lost my temper. I phoned 111 about 2pm. Wouldn’t go to hospital, now waiting for an ambulance. In my (minor) defence I have had a headache most of last night and all day.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all,
Woken up by torrential rain this morning, so I stayed put and read a bit of my new-to-me book. It has to be better than the last one which will wing its way back to the cs.
The rain has decided for me - no allotment trip, no bulb planting in the back garden (I did the pansies into a couple of pots yesterday ✅). I have adjusted DD’s bedroom curtains, which I made ages ago and pulled up too tightly. Now loosened off so that they fit better to hopefully keep the heat in over the winter. Wm is on, once that is finished, I need to tackle the utility RoD - need to pull out and clean behind the fridge, and rescue the packet of coffee that has disappeared down there.
I finished knitting my summer cardigan last night at last. Just the 2 side seams to sew up today, maybe this afternoon.
Other jobs - sort out fridge, meal plan, plan what is going to fill the oven when I turn it on later. Slinky weigh in - 3 whole pounds gained in the past week!!! I need to focus. Interesting challenges you have set yourself, Iona. Food for thought there.
Valli, I hope you are ok today
Hugs to all, spare spoons in the (still not cleaned, but on my list) jar by the door. Help yourselves x10
