Mammoth task to rediscover the utility room is nearly done. Various bits of packaging and ice cream cartons (empty!) rehoused to bins / recycling as appropriate. The stock of tins (I am my mother’s daughter in that respect) has been pulled out and rotated. Spiders and webs have been rehoused, back of the fridge and freezer vacuumed. Various bits put into a basket to become meals over the next week or so - 3 packets of quinoa anyone? The basket of use-ups is still in the utility room, but it WILL go down to empty this month. Now I need to sort out the fridge in the kitchen and see what the meal plan for the week looks like.I have my eye on the cupboard in the kitchen that has the baking stuff in it, but that can wait for another rainy day.9

Pigpen - Fluffy!!This is Smaug, she likes to run around the room causing chaos (although shes currently brumating so I haven't seen her for about a month.)Today me and the bf I have cleaned out the disaster that is the store room/throw-it-in-and-forget-it room. We needed the floorspace to set up the tortoises temp home while hes on his hibernation wind down. Its too warm in the Zoo Room with all the other tanks going.Room cleared successfully.Tortoise bathed & temp enclosure set up, and tort moved in.
Dogs claws clipped, with the aid of a pursuasive treat13 scorplings photographed (I think one has either already passed or on his way). Someone on fb said he would help me try and sex them, its a little early to tell yet but at best guess we reckon 3 females, 10 males. They had to be photographed from underneath, so this involved catching them one by one in a small pot, shining uv light on them (gives a clearer pic as they glow) and using the macro lens. I needed about 3 hands. Also, vacuumed upstairs and downstairs and while it was on my mind, cleaned Smaugs enclosure glass and checked on her.Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

After all those exotics, my flying report is quite mundane. Since my last post I have
- started sweeping the leaves off the lawn - and guess what! DH came out and offered t take over! How could I refuse? So that's one job I didn't have to do His reward was a huge ripe strawberry off the plants which are now making up for lack of growth earlier in the year
- tidied the bookshelves in the study and spaced out the framed photos over two shelves, so that I can actually see them
- made and ate mushroom soup for lunch (with DH, of course)
- done a rough meal plan for the coming week
- put rice pudding in the SC
- got the sewing machine out and turned up the sleeves on a fleecy top and the trousers on two pairs of pyjamas - that's another thing off my Toots list
Just the baking left to do, then. Our meal will be some of the stew that I made on Wednesday.
See you on the new thread later xxx10 -
Smaug is lovely.. Squeak will be posting herself to you.. until she saw the spiddle.. I just liberated a house spider from the kitchen.. she would have been a cat snack. sexing scorpions sounds.. interesting... axolotyls are a favourite in here.
I have cleared some kitchen done some washing and the DW and wiped work surface.. I scrubbed the extractor hood too so it looks nice.. but I am done and the kitchen is not. I threw out a lunchbag with a broken zip and OH emptied bins. 2 huge buckets of recycling went out
I am now devoid of spoons so the other half of my list will not be getting done.
A further defrost of the freezer appears to have fixed it temporarily again.. it contains 1 pizza!

i'm fine but; the aged P (male) is in hospital - same ward I was on - emergency medical. It won't be peaceful - and the aged P (female) home alone. I am trying to keep away as I am clinically vulnerable post-chemo so no hospital visiting for me.
Now to see whether/how mother reacts to being on her own day and night.
headache gone. Done my injection and don't feel too yukky yet.
