Hope you feel better soon, Jazee x
Yes, I was in the WAC from 2.30 to about 4.00 - can't think why, Rosie didn't wake me (rather, the other way round). Went downstairs to make a cuppa and found some frit loaf in the freezer, so had that (sans beurre) with it. The morning papers sent me back to sleep, and I've only just re-started my day.
To do today:
- check finances
- send a birthday e-card
- make a phonecall [office opens at 8.00, tried at 8.15 but "unavailable"]
- make another cuppa and, while the kettle boils, PA whatever was WULTD last night
- stew into SC
- hoover through downstairs
- sort, label and plant the bulbs in the patio pots, and add the winter bedding (it's going to pour tomorrow, so I'm determined to get this done today)
- plant out a rosemary twig which is a leftover from a bunch of flowers that I was given months ago and has rooted in a vase on the kitchen window sill
- take DH to SW
- shower and change
- regular horse piddle appointment at 3.30 (must remember to allow time for school traffic)
- top-up shop on my way home
- Rosie's walk
That's more than enough - but I promise I will take things slowly, Fayolle! x
Hope everyone has a good day - spoons for pigpen and anyone else in need of them in the pot next to the hob, please help yourselves xxx11 -
Sneaking in late again,
Yesterday was taken up by repairman coming in the morning. Did manage to speak to electricity provider and change contract so hopefully should see some reductions soon, and OH is completely on board with the idea that we only have to be REALY careful about usage for 22 days in the year (yet to be determined but in the winter) and hopefully that should take the sting out of the recent and future increases. A quick walk that turned into just over 2 hours! But weight is slowly creeping down, not at the rate I would like but at least it's not increasing. Washing done but on the airer to dry so still not dry enough to put away.
Walked to chemist with OH this morning, back via village shop to pick up a couple of apples so I can make fig chutney this afternoon, I've been given loads and loads of figs, so trying to find new ways to use them.
Cat trays done and downstairs hoovered.
Off to get some more stuff out of the container this afternoon, some for us to sort and some to go to DD1.
Look after yourselves and keep SMILING8 -

Well done, Kaz! xx
Progress - if it's gone, it's done

- regular horse piddle appointment at 3.30 (must remember to allow time for school traffic)

Well done Kaz!An update for me today…
2 x wm done, 1 just about dry on the line
heating has been for a bit as I am freezing!Office tidied and various bits rehomed
bit of admin
phone calls for relative
beds made (DH using the spare room due to his cold)
DW filled but will run when supper dishes are loaded as well
Windows opened this morning for some fresh air
paid stuff done but I am really not at my most productive at the moment
thats probably my lot for today but will see if I feel up to tackling anything else afterwards x9 -
Well done, Kaz! Fantastic achievements. And I remember when you used to have time for the paid stuff!
Bank / BS called, so toad has been nibbled. They called back, hopefully with appointment, but I missed the call (I did warn them, so at least she left a message), I need to call back tomorrow, so hopefully the toad with have more of a bite than a nibble out of it.
Lovely day out, in a sad kind of way, with friend. I have been so frugal this year, that it felt decadent to actually spend money! I treated her to lunch at the gc, we had a good mooch around the whole place. I bought a couple of C-word presents. Oh and somehow some pansies and bulbs fell into my basket trolley. Remarkably restrained, really, considering the plants on offer, especially in the bargain section.
Washing dried outside whilst I was out. I might stir myself to ironing it later.8 -
I've seen a couple of comments about the Flylady Christmas Card Swap. If no-one else has time to do it I'd like to volunteer for it. If there's anyone else who wants to do it I don't want to step on your toes, but if not I'd hate the proud and happy tradition to lapse. Let me know what you think."A BIG apology from here for the lack of posting over the past week or few. RL seems to be getting in the way, which is no excuse. My minimal flying then seems insignificant to post. However, it occurred to me that I would really, really miss you all if this thread shut up shop due to malaise like mine. So here I am, back and ready to bore the life out of you…" (Fayolle's comment last week.) ^^^ Wot she said.I'm sorry you had such a frustrating time of it at the hospital last week Valli. (((Hugs)))Huge congratulations on completing the 100 Mile Challenge Kaz.I have flown a bit, not much because I'm still shuffling around on my bottom most of the time, but the bathroom's had a few more swish and swipes than usual, and I've cleared and chucked more paperwork. I'm currently going through various cook books to see if I want to be bothered with keeping them, and to hunt out ideas for meal planning for the future.I took a few steps today without the boot or the frame, clutching on to various bits of house and furntiture, but that's real progress and it made me very happy.
Better is good enough.8 -
Hi all
A few tricky things dealt with at work. It is very busy but I am trying not to stress.
I have had a niggly elbow for a while but now my whole arm is sore and my hand keeps going slightly numb. I can only assume that 5 hours cycling at the weekend has made it worse. Of course the real problem is hours spent using a computer mouse without taking proper breaks.
Clean washing taken off airer, bed made, kitchen tidied. I dont have to rush to the paid stuff in the morning so will fly a little then.
You can keep your turkish delight as I cant stand the stuff, but save me a custard cream in the WAC, I may be joining you.11 -
Great achievement Kaz.
Well volunteered for the Christmas cards Honeybear; it would have been a real shame if they didn't happen this year. I had thought of volunteering in desperation, but realistically my uni work has started so late this year I know it is going to be manic between now and the C word.
Managed to avoid the WAC in fact seemed to be in a coma and couldn't rouse myself at all for my usual gym swim, which was irritating. Still felt cold-like but re-read the instructions re my flu jab and it only said avoid if you have a 'heavy cold' or Covid, neither of which apply. Had flu jab and picked up a few things in Mr T.
Dropped off friend's coat which she'd left in my car after the Roxy concert.
Holiday clothes piled. Sure I'm going to be too hot at one venue and too cold at the other.....it is hard to predict the weather and harder to pack for all eventualities when for the second bit, it will be Mr N and BIL with their bags in the car as well, not to mention each of them having loads of camera equipment (way bigger than my wet suit bag..).
Picked a whole large shopping bag full of cooking apples from our local 'nobody owns this tree' area, to take to Mum's. Will have to wash them tomorrow and make sure they will keep as she won't have time to peel and freeze them before we go away.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Excellent work Kaz
Well done on the walking and thanks for stepping up, Honey Bear. I dared not offer just in case….Washing line dried (towels) and HHI doneDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
