Tapo P110

Are you sure? That equates to an average of about 58Wh per hour of use. Tumble dryers usually take considerably more than that. Also 504 hours in a month is about 16 hours per day!sandy700 said:
my tumble dryer used 29.198kWh in the past month. (runtime 504 hours)Qyburn said:I'm just reaching the stage of moving some of mine. The one on the TV for example, I installed this to keep an eye on the TV which initially didn't go properly into standby when switched off, so the P110 allowed me to check, and also run a schedule to keep it switched off when not in use.Now it's behaving I have data showing 2.73kWh used during November, but during that time the consumption of the P110 will have added a bit more than 0.75kWh.Time to move it onto he tumble drier I think.

Yes why would I not be. I can read the info from the tapo app.
The 504 hours runtime is what the tapo app says it has been running since the tumble dryer was plugged into it.
It wasn't plugged in at 00:01 on the first of December.

I expect that's the Tapo 'relay on' time rather than the appliance run time which will be different, assuming of course that the tumble dryer isn't in constant use!sandy700 said:

the run time is the amount of time the plug is switched on, not the amount of time something is using energy.
example - turn the plug on for 24 hours - run time is 24 hours, tumble dryer 2 hours, run time is still 24 hours but you'll have energy consumed for only two hours. If you only energise the plug for 3 three hours then the run time would be 3 hours even though the dryer only runs for two
Did you really think that your dryer was running for 504 hours, that implies that the dryer was running for some 16.8 hours a day, (every day) in November, surely not

If you have the latest version of the app and have updated the firmware on the P110, you'll have the option to delete the data and start afresh. You can also email yourself the current data if you want to look at it in a spreadsheet,sandy700 said:victor2 said:

Does your tumble dryer use any energy when it isn't tumble drying? (mine does!) If so, you maybe should have turned the Tapo to off when it wasn't in use.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Our TV and NowTV box uses 3w when in standby mode. That is less than I expected and I think would work out at less than 4p a day if the TV wasn't turned on. The TV is turned on a lot because partner does not seem to be able to cope without it, after 20 years of nagging at least now he turns it off when he leaves the room. It uses between 1 and 3 kWh per day. Found a sticker on the back of the TV that says Power Consumption 190W although Tapo was registering 163w when TV was on during the day.

My hubby was also a "TV on for background noise" type but since I've started turning the set top box off at the switch and it takes a couple of minutes to warm up, he mostly can't be bothered and only puts it on if there's something he really wants to watch
