Applied last week and had the email stating 3 working days. Still waiting. Now on the telephone and was told my call was being transferred. So far I've waited over 33 minutes. Guess that they don't want my money!

  • How do you pay money into this account? Opened the account online but can't find a way of paying in? Can you use a debit card? Got nowhere on their website, it mentions paying in by cheque in branch or via the post office. Got nowhere online with their robot or on the phone.

The account just has a sort code and account number just punch those into wherever the money is at the moment to instigate a faster payment.

Did anyone open the Satander saver account who already had Santander logins? They've sent me new logins in the post but my old ones still work..

Can transfer from your other accounts or if you prefer going into branch can go pay into your account number and sort code.
  • Are Santander going to honour the accounts of those who signed up last week but through no fault of their own haven't got it open yet?

Santander made me post off all my ID so still waiting. Hardly seems fair if I don't get it because of their own crazy security systems.

If the linked article stating it is closing tonight is correct then the following should be correct too:

The Limited Edition eSaver is going to be withdrawn by midnight tonight, Monday 17th October 2022, after unprecedented demand:

Santander said that any applications received by 23:59 today will still receive the 2.75 per cent rate once opened. Applications will then be processed over the following days.

From tomorrow, Santander will replace the product with a new issue paying a lower rate of 2 per cent.

For monthly interest, anyone know when this is paid? Skimmed through T&C's, but failed to spot anything. Can't see anything on their website either.
    Last day of the month!
Not according to the person at Santander I spoke with, who told me interest is paid on the monthly anniversary of account opening.

I'm an existing and longstanding 123 (Full) account holder and applied last Tuesday.

I received the acknowledgement e-mail with confirmation OLA reference number but nothing else.

I rang the complaints line this morning and was told that my account application couldn't be traced - there was a computer glitch affecting a certain series of OLA numbers.

The customer adviser told me to re-apply immediately  and she would ring me back once she had checked that the new application had gone through.

She called this afternoon to say that the application had been received and would be processed but she couldn't give me a time scale because they were working through such high demand!

She also said that I might find that two accounts would be opened and if so that I would be able to close one of them through on-line banking.

    You couldn't make it up!
