Applied last week and had the email stating 3 working days. Still waiting. Now on the telephone and was told my call was being transferred. So far I've waited over 33 minutes. Guess that they don't want my money!0

How do you pay money into this account? Opened the account online but can't find a way of paying in? Can you use a debit card? Got nowhere on their website, it mentions paying in by cheque in branch or via the post office. Got nowhere online with their robot or on the phone.0

Are Santander going to honour the accounts of those who signed up last week but through no fault of their own haven't got it open yet?
Santander made me post off all my ID so still waiting. Hardly seems fair if I don't get it because of their own crazy security systems.0 -

Santander said that any applications received by 23:59 today will still receive the 2.75 per cent rate once opened. Applications will then be processed over the following days. From tomorrow, Santander will replace the product with a new issue paying a lower rate of 2 per cent.

I'm an existing and longstanding 123 (Full) account holder and applied last Tuesday.
I received the acknowledgement e-mail with confirmation OLA reference number but nothing else.
I rang the complaints line this morning and was told that my account application couldn't be traced - there was a computer glitch affecting a certain series of OLA numbers.
The customer adviser told me to re-apply immediately and she would ring me back once she had checked that the new application had gone through.
She called this afternoon to say that the application had been received and would be processed but she couldn't give me a time scale because they were working through such high demand!
She also said that I might find that two accounts would be opened and if so that I would be able to close one of them through on-line banking.
You couldn't make it up!
