I had a reply to my query of not receiving a bundle. Spectos think I acknowledged receiving it as they have matched it up with a package that I have received. I am clueless whether this is true or not as I bin the package letter once scanned.

Have they told you the number of the package A+ 4 digits ?  On the app, go to points history and scroll back and look for that number - if you did scan it, then it will appear as Reported package A1234 with 25 points and a date.

That won't give me the C number for posting, so I could have received an envelope with just the A number on a letter without the bundle.

It doesn't really matter now, as either I didn't receive it or I have lost it. Either way I haven't got it to post.

??? If you'd received the package with a page headed POSTING PLAN which has the A1234 number but no bundle then surely you'd have queried it straightaway.
I need to think of something new here...

I would have thought so. I wonder if I reported posting while standing near the post box and it didn't connect for some reason.

The delivery to my tower block is dreadful, and is a frequent topic of conversation with the neighbours. Taking part in this survey has just confirmed it due to how much they send - I've had nothing every day this week, then 19 bits of post yesterday (both Spectos stuff and bills, letters from friends, etc.). I get a lot of queries from Spectos asking whether I'm sure about the dates I put, as Royal Mail say it was registered sooner. I just hope someone notices the survey results here and the post is sorted out so it's delivered regularly rather than saved up and then delivered all in one go once a week.

That should be (partly) the point of the survey to detect that a given Delivery Office is not working to standard and report this to RM.  Whether RM do anything is another question...  You could in theory try a complaint (and get your neighbours to join in) to the local DO (not mentioning the survey) if you are getting important docs late.

I got my first query on the Spectos app this morning.   The item they were nagging me about earlier went in the postbox just before 5pm on Monday (for a 5.30 collection) but apparently wasn't tracked until Wednesday morning.  So possibly the box was cleared early and the bundle sat there another 24 hours. Or it was in the local depot for a day.

I have this with 80% of bundles I post. I deliberately use the post box nearest to me in order to highlight how rubbish the service is from this post box. I'm convinced they miss it out more often than not.

Just a shame that Spectos don't give extra points for answering queries.

  • Today I received a mailbag to post next week. Just one mailbag in the box, with posting plan and manifest. The posting plan, under 'Number and type of test items', says '2 Medium'. There's definitely only one item - the mailbag - in the box, although I can feel that there are 2 books in the mailbag. Should there have been a second item in the box, for me to post? Or are the '2 items' referring to the 2 books in the mailbag?

Also, do I just hand the mailbag in with the manifest, nothing further to complete?  The tag attached to the mailbag has a PO Box address stamped on it, and nothing else.

With Kantar I was told (by the PO counter clerk) to just leave the mailbag in the corner of the PO - no need to hand it to the counter clerk. I used to thread the manifest through the black tie, rather than hand it to the clerk. Seemed to work okay (bearing in mind the date on the manifest is never the date of handing over the mailbag). I never got any queries from Kantar.

It's the first time I've done this since Spectos took over. Any advice/help would be much appreciated. Thanks. x

I always check when the next collection is. Relies on the tab being changed though.

I assume the number of test items refers to the 2 in the post bag. I always hand the manifest to the clerk at the depot to scan into their system.

I got a postal bag too today, quite a fan of the box it came in - will be very useful for other things.

I got one of those today... it's 2x Small Parcel and to me it feels like 2 books, presumably wrapped in brown paper with a label.  so that's correct.   The first mailbag I had last month felt like it had 2 cubes in it.
Also, do I just hand the mailbag in with the manifest, nothing further to complete?  The tag attached to the mailbag has a PO Box address stamped on it, and nothing else.

POs seem to vary.   Mine expects to scan the barcode on the manifest so in Kantar days I would leave the zip tie a bit loose, then tuck the scanned manifest in and tighten before leaving it in the pile.  Now I have to either replace the zip tie with one of the many spares Kantar sent - or use an elastic band of the many that postie has given me over the years...  Maybe your PO leaves the scanning until the end of the day or just before collection?
