The stamps though, I don't have a clue what to do with them as I never need to send letters or parcels and I have a ridiculous amount now 🤣🤣
I got rid of my excess Large 1st by selling them to this dealer:  https://www.philatelink.co.uk/buying--stamps-prices-4-w.asp  (scroll down halfway to see the price list)    Better than just leaving them in a drawer if you will never use them.
I sell the reward stamps on eBay. After factoring in the fees, my last batch sold for about 55% of the face value. There is always demand for them.
I actually thought about doing that a few months ago but I saw a post on the community boards regarding selling stamps that said you had to be licensed to sell them.

I wasn’t aware of that, thanks for the info.  I haven’t had any problems so far 🤞There’s always lots of stamps & presentation packs on the site.

I’ve sold mine on Facebook marketplace, cash only, a few times, but the last time there wasn’t much interest. I did have a request to post down south, but they only wanted to pay by PayPal and I just felt it was too open to abuse with no way of judging how sensible/real the  buyer was.

Thank you for this! I will have a look! I had no idea that there was somewhere online that buys stamps. I had considered Facebook marketplace but then it occurred to me that I would have to give an explanation to a potential buyer why I have so many as I would not want them to think that they were either fake or stolen as no "normal" person would have so many stamps but then I would be revealing my identity so I dismissed that idea.

I tried selling mine on Facebook Marketplace but I had people commenting that they must be fake/counterfeit because I was selling them slightly cheaper than the RRP price.

I removed them after that because I obviously couldn’t go into the specific's as to why I’ve got so many stamps to sell at a cheap price.

I have managed to use/ gift/ sell my standard first class stamps, it is the large letter ones that I am stuck with.

  • I have lots of spare stamps too (I originally started on the panel not for stamps but because of local issues and a suspicion our post was going astray) but every so often donate to a local cat rescue who still post out an old style newsletter to it's members and the large stamps are also useful for the annual cat calendar they sell.

I used to sell the booklets on eBay and usually made 65-70% but the demand dropped in 2023 and it wasn't worth the hassle when I could get 63% from a dealer.
I need to think of something new here...

I use mine to cover the cost of postage on items I sell on ebay / FB marketplace.
I've still got loads of stamps stashed but as a small parcel costs £3 /£4 to post, it can be a quick way of using up a few stamps and recouping their value as the buyer is paying postage  :)
