Morning all,
WM x 1 DW x 1 but didn’t get kitchen put to bed last night.I’ve swapped my days so I can attend a neighbour’s funeral at 12:30. I wasn’t able to go to her husband’s funeral as I was at work (old job) and they were both here when I moved in and have been lovely neighbours and will be missed.
I also want to take mum to pick pears, too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hi all
The work thing I have worried about is resolved and all is well. Such relief. Not a bad day at the paid stuff, cycled in and back, drizzle all the way.
I managed to get two small spots of Sudocrem on the carpet doing the dog ears. Tried to wash it out and now have two massive pale patches, I now realise how grubby the carpet is. I think the carpet cleaner will have to come out after my brother's visit this weekend.
Two loads of washing partly dried outside despite the weather, we have lit the fire so it will go over the airer before bed.
ASB you should write a book, if only you had the time eh? x

It's good to hear that the work thing that was worrying you so much is resolved, YL xx
I'm sorry that I'm unable to offer my services for the Flylady Christmas Card Swap this year, Valli - I am hoping to go away for a week in December, right around the critical posting period. Bad planning!
This morning I helped my gardener to fill our green bin and half-fill my NNN's bin too with all the trimmings from the shrubs in the front garden, so didn't have time to plant any of the bulbs. No problem - they can wait a bit longer.
Apart from having to drive home in the rush hour, my afternoon appointment went much as expected, except that I was left wondering why everyone at the horse piddle in Millennium City is so much more smiley than the people who work in our local one. Management style, perhaps?
Rosie got a slightly longer walk than usual, even though it was nearly dark by the time we got home. She has now feasted on pasta and sausage treats, and is snoring blissfully beside me.
Hope everyone has a relaxing evening. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xxx9 -

Unexpectedly I had rather a shivery, headachy reaction to my Covid jab - shivery overnight and woke with a splitting headache so took Ibuprofen instead of going to the gym. Had a fairly quiet morning continuing with sorting out office/admin and felt ok by lunch time.
Finally had date agreed by awkward student who couldn't come into uni for her assessment on the days I work, despite being able to do an online lecture in the morning - bemused as to why she couldn't do the online lecture on her laptop on campus then have her assessment, I nevertheless offered a choice of coming in on a different day. Pain 1: instead of substituting one of my usual days for the 'other' day, admin booked her in as an extra day, so 3 assessments over 3 days which isn't something I find easy, as by the time I start writing up the first one, only the next 2 are in my head. Pain 2: on looking at the paperwork, the student wants to be assessed for autism, which isn't something I'm qualified to do anyway. So back to admin with her paperwork and frantic email to manager.
Finished putting all my CPD (notes taken in notebook) onto my professional body CPD log. That has released a whole 'shelf' in my tiered in-tray. Office is making progress but not fast enough. I need to give myself a stern talking-to tomorrow and remind myself that I'm out from lunchtime onwards on Friday (concert), swim Sat am, church then friend to dinner on Sunday (not sure when I'll fit in supermarket). Mon/Tues are relatively ok but Wed and Thurs I have assessments and Thurs eve I go away for 10 days. So I can feel a master list coming on.
Added 'pins' onto a Google map of all the places Mr N and I have on our list as possible visiting places next week. Had a Zoom meeting with BIL to make sure he agreed and/or had other suggestions. Unfortunately either Zoom, internet or computer playing up so he couldn't see us (although could see the map I shared). Have updated and will test it again tomorrow.
Collected windfall apples.
Did a small bit of drum practice then watched final of young musician of the year (percussionist won, yay) which surely counts as practice.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
