When I was a child our cat was fed with Butcher scraps plus of course whatever he caught.  Sooty lived to a Good old age and was fit and energetic.  Not sure if the pendulum has swung too far.

I’ve just moved back to the UK from Spain. The price increases there are just as bad if not worse cause the supermarkets just don’t seem to care. Certain items over 100% price increase in less than 6 months. My daughters breakfast cakes were 65c a bag, in September when I last bought them €1.47!!

Since moving back here I’ve noticed things have gone up too. I’ve kept up to date as best I can. When I visited I did a Tesco shop online so I’m not completely blind to it. My daughter likes babybel and they are expensive now. I used to buy them on offer 6 for £1, now it’s £2.29 for 10. Thankfully a bag will last 2 weeks as she doesn’t eat them every day.

Brand wise I’m not so much of a snob. I like the budget ranges in Tesco, not had anything I don’t like yet. I do however like my branded fizzy drink, either Diet Coke or Pepsi max whichever is on offer. That being said I only have 1 can a day so a big box lasts a few weeks. Even chocolate we tried the Tesco own and enjoyed it. Cadbury is far too sweet for me these days anyways

Tesco: Cesar dog food £4.60/kg, Minced beef 500g £3.60kg. The animal is getting more expensive food than the family. Don't let it run the household budget with expensive food and treats. Try looking a big sack of dried food and water, if the animals don't like it tough.

If anyone uses a lot of granulated sugar, I've noticed it's 62p in S@vers. 75p in most supermarkets.
