Kaz, I dreamt last night that there was a muntjac in my garden, eating the roses - even though there are none round here!
Fayolle, I love your win-win approach!
Not very much progress made so far....7 -
Fayolle said:Good morning all,
I’ve been cracking on with the usual Tuesday jobs, so bedding changed, wm x 2 soon to finish, hair washed and was tamed but now I look like Lenny the Lion again 🦁. I have just dusted downstairs, so will vacuum when I come off here. DH on calls so I will leave upstairs for another day, apart from the bathroom. HHI yesterday evening caused the smart meter to have a rave up, so ironing will now definitely be curtailed 😉. Win win.
I wrote today's list last night, and it included admin. I have gone off that job now.
Valli, let me know the treat of choice and I will stock up the WAC tin for you, or for the other patients if you get home today.
Stick and spoons by the back door, please help yourself. Hugs here for all xx

Thank you for whoever’s guag I have had to stay. I have a feeling that it might belong to Round…
I have
vacuumed downstairs
cleaned the French doors in the LR. It seems that DH had been practising his fly swatting skills all summer far more than I have cared to notice, so today was the day. Light has been let in.
hung up clean damp washing indoors due to intermittent drizzle outside
tidied out the airing cupboard
cleaned the bathroom
ditto the ensuite, including scrubbing the toilet with a bicarb paste. It will need doing again but I think it is better than when I started. I drew the line at cleaning the Venetian blinds.
I am going to do some of the paperwork mountain, then I will do some cooking later. I bought a white loaf for breadcrumbs but I have an irresistible urge to also make bread and butter pudding with it. So now I need to plan a full oven load to make it worth switching it on. Tonight’s rice will be swapped for potatoes to start with. DH will be happy about that, it might make up for the fact that he is getting beetroot goulash for dinner, but he doesn’t know that yet…
ETA - ooh, Valli, do you mean Lemon Puffs? I’m on the case for you.7 -

What is WAC please???Wide Awake Club. You're welcome.*Healing vibes* for Mr Ionafan and Valli, and (((hugs))) for everyone who is worried about loved ones, or feeling down themselves, and *coping vibes* for those that are struggling.Sorry I have been AWOL but I genuinely had nothing to say about anything, and Flying hasn't been happening either. My ankle is feeling much better now that I'm out of the temporary plaster, the stitches are out and it's in a proper cast to the point where a couple of parrots is enough for 24 hours.Today a lovely decorator came into our bedroom to fix a bit of dangly wallpaper that's been dangling for about 18 months, so I had to clear an access path for him. That took longer than the repair, and I've spent the rest of the day Flying the bedroom up to about 3' off the floor and bathroom. Everything I could reach has been dusted, washed, wiped, vacuummed, sorted, decluttered and tidied. It's the most Flying I've done for months and it looks a thousand times better. The house is fully booked for the rest of the month after being very quiet for weeks and months, so we have had to put the heating on but their rent will be lobbed at the gas bill and more than cover it for this month, which is super-helpful. First guest arrives tonight.Better is good enough.12 -
Hi all
Hope Valli is home, I remember the waiting for medication game in hospital when DS was discharged and re-admitted many times.
Funny day, I am struggling to focus on the paid stuff, and I have been like this since our holiday a month ago. I need to get a grip. I cycled in today but am driving to an evening meeting in a little while, at least I can claim the diesel back for this one.
Heating oil will cost £708, we can scrape it together but DH is not well at the moment so is not working. It's all a worry.11 -
I am home.
DD had slung a stew in the SC; I turned it up and have done some mashed pots. Eaten - was delicious. Spare mashed pots will be added to fish pie. the plan is to have some 'slam it in the oven' dishes for my post-chemo week. I was the least ill person in my bay and when the doc came to see me I was giving the lady in the next bed sips of her tea because we apparently couldn't rustle up a sippy cup, having buttered her toast and cut it up for her given I could see she was struggling. the doctor was complained to on her behalf - my blood boils - they are trying to get elderly patients to increase their fluid intake (and dehydration, as I am sure some of you will be aware, can lead to confusion) and yet if they cannot feed/drink without assistance (due to condition/cot sides/frailty) yet no help is forthcoming. (I washed my hands before touching her food etc).
Nothing else happened to me other than the high temperature, they have been unable to pin down an infection and my temperature is normal now.
might have done HHI *whistles nonchalantly*
Unpacked hospital bag and have repacked a new bag with what i actually want/need (so that I'm not caught on the hop again) so we can pretty much guarantee I won't be back in hospital anytime soon.

Good Morning All,
After rejoining you all last week and absolutely flying, this week has taken a nose dive and life is getting in the way of my flying.
Today I have a dental appointment at 9.30 and then a school appointment at 11.00 about one of my foster lads.. let's say he isn't model pupil by a long shot and is seriously in danger of exclusion today.
Hoping to at least do level ones on the list this afternoon!£2021 in 2021... £253.86/£202110 -
So glad you are back home Valli, there's nothing nicer than your own bed and belongings around you to make you feel better. I am a big advocate of you can get better quicker in your own home rather than in hospital. Also that's one of the reasons DH didn't want to go into hospital when he had Covid etc.
Well I have a productive 28 days coming up which involves running DH back and forth to our main hospital for IV chemo every day day at the same time for an hour... Mustn't be late and has to go in at this time, don't ask I have no idea why it can't be varied.. If he is late or doesn't get into that appointment well - we actually don't know as it's not happened...lol Can't really complain about the hospital in that respect just I can't stay with him, so I have to stay with all the other relatives in the designated area, or go to the cafe in the hospital, till he is ready to take home. Then hopefully he can go back onto his weekly maintance doseage at home like he has been doing, although it might be increased a wee bit. But for the interim he has to have heavy duty chemo (as his consultant called it on the phone). Now we know why the Dr was so keen to talk to DH when normally we can't talk to a Dr for love or money when we need to...lol Must've scared them when they realised he's been going downhill and they haven't picked it up on a blood test... That is why our surgery is in special measures...!!!
Ok flying wise I've declutterd a cup of tea, completely gutted my fridge and sorted out and put away the veg from the veg box delivery yesterday, hoovered the lounge and am now considering getting breakfast before heading out later with DH
Oh and also managed to declutter £120.00 to the garage on Monday for my car repairs. Can I say I miss my squeak in the car now it's all fixed...I loved that squeak...lolMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️
