Does anyone else on Sainsburys have any different figures for the SVT or the V21 tariff?
I'm on v20 and I can't even see the SVT figures online (the Change My Tarriff menu option was recently removed for me).
Maybe too many people are using it and confusing the system, I know I confused it and my monthly DD has increased since I changed from V20 fixed to variable as the fixed had my £66 discount but the SVT does not, not too fussed however as I'll be getting 4% cash back on it :D
Reducing people DDs by £66 seems to have just confused a lot of people.
EDIT: Just noticed this, HM Government Discount Energy Bills Support Scheme+£66.00 CR. So I guess they are not putting it into my bank account then. Ah well, suites me.

I was on Sainsbury’s/E-On fix V19 tariff which ended on the 7th and today I got a bill which included the £66 rebate.

So far so good, it then went on to state the balance on my A/C including the £66 rebate would be credited to my bank by the 24th October.

Then it stated ‘This is your final bill with Sainsbury's Energy’.

On my account I can’t see any ongoing tariffs. So I’m assuming I’ll be on the government rates for my region but unsure who my supplier will be.

Anyone else had a similar communication?

Erm, that’s odd. You should be on the SVT, that’s true, but it doesn’t involve switching suppliers.

Have you had a “sorry you’re leaving us” or anything that might suggest someone has accidentally put in a switch request for your address?

Those are the direct debit rates for the Midlands.
People in other regions will pay different rates.

Nothing other than 'Thank you for choosing Sainsbury's Energy' which is probably normal.
I have contacted them to see was happening, however, I suspect they are inundated with enquiries at present.

Following a number of attempts finally got through on the phone and got it sorted.

Apparently the 'This is your final bill with Sainsbury's Energy' statement was generated because I came off a fixed deal and my A/C hadn't been updated to reflect the new SVT.

They implemented the changes while I was online and now all is good.
  • Is everyone else still on a fixed tariff showing the wrong prices still, I would have thought by now they would show the new Economy 7 cap prices.

The option to move onto SVT is still missing. Is everyone else just sitting and waiting?

Yeah, still completely in the dark here as to what I'm actually paying (note I am not on Economy 7 though so don't know if that particular aspect was what was of interest).

Online account says I'm still on the fixed tariff (v20) but the figures are as originally set and not discounted towards/to the EPG limits. Interestingly I note in the transaction table they have credited the expected £66 for the support scheme on 6th Oct, but also two 'customer service gestures' of £4.62 and £3.72 which I have no idea what they relate to - perhaps the excess that I'm now paying on the fixed tariff over and above what I should be?

I'm just going to wait and see what happens. Certainly don't want to push for anything that might be irreversible in terms of tariff changes, particularly in light of today's announcement that the EPG scheme will be changing in six months.

Shame they haven't followed up on the promise they made weeks ago to get in touch 'over the next few days' with details of exactly what's going to happen.

Did Sainsburys not have a statement on their website stating that all fixed rates would be reduced down to the government guarantee - or am I imagining that? If I’m right, surely they shouldn’t be moving people onto their variable tariff?

They moved me from fix to svr as they said my fix (v20) couldn't come down further to match the EPG rates. Now I'm even more frustrated they couldn't do this as would've given me certainty for the next year.
