One of my previous suppliers has now re-billed me based on current usage.

Well, it looks like our long drawn out story may finally be coming to a conclusion.
Yer man from the Ombudsman rang me earlier and went through each part of my lengthy tirade against Bulb. (Not, of course, that they are responsible for the old meter being faulty.)
He was aghast at much of their handling of the situation, and that 400 units of gas used in a month didn't ring alarm bells with them.
Even if he hadn't been on the same page as me I should say that he broke the process down brilliantly and ensured he had covered the essentials.
His decision is that Bulb rebill be for the time I've been with them, using readings from the new meter to inform older usage. This was my suggestion all along.
He's also bumped the goodwill gesture up by 50 quid to 150, ta very much.
We're not there yet, and Bulb may appeal, but it feels like the whole palaver may almost be over.
I will post again once the denoument is official.19 -
