    Ta for the reply. Probably did not expalin myself very well regarding the "fuse boxes", I meant that we have had a "new" mains meter fitted, (similar to those pictures I have just noted on this thread), and when this was installed we also had the "new generation" smart meter. We still have the same / original fuse boxes, one that is powered 24/7, and another that is just linked to the storage heaters and is only powered / live between midnight and 7.00 am...

    If you have a smart meter then you don't have a radio teleswitch (RTS) and none of this applies. Smart meter services will continue as normal.

    Elexon and ENA have told me RTS will most likely be extended to April 2025. Hopefully there will be an official update soon.

    ★ December 2025 is the absolute deadline to replace RTS;
    ★ Customers with RTS meters should be switched over by Summer 2025 to ensure 2025 target is reached;

    I still have an RTS meter on E7.  My E7 times in the summer are 1pm to 8pm.  I am being bombarded by requests from my supplier to upgrade but their E7 times are 12.15 to 7.15 which does not suit me.
    I think the RTS service switches off in June 2025.
    Will it be extended do you think ?

    If that's the case then your TeleSwitch is broken.
  • Hello - I’m new to this forum and would appreciate your views. Like others, I’m being told by my supplier (EDF) that I have to have a mew meter installed due to RTS switch off.
    Is my meter RTS (see photos)?
    thanks for any advice

    It isn't RTS as far as I can see, but it's 2 years past the end of certification so you have to have it replaced anyway.

    Make sure they arrange an appointment to install a 5 terminal smart meter and not one with just 4 and ask them to confirm that it will only power your storage heaters at night. Get that in writing and verbal confirmation from the installer before they begin the work. Also take photos of your old meter's day and night readings before the work starts.

    Why would it need to only power the storage heaters at night please? Surely everything used at night should be on cheap rate for Econ 7?
