Many thanks for the new thread @elsiepac
Can you please put me down for:£250 for October
This is for 2 adults, kitten food and to cover visitor meals every week or so. It includes cleaning, household and toiletry items.
This is the 3rd month I've stuck with £250 but I have been using a bit of the budget to stock up. I will set aside £20 of the budget this month to do more of that and start circulating the stock better to ensure I'm using things up.
Best of luck everyone.7 -
Right, after a big over-spend in September, I'm determined to get aboard the grocery spending in October. That said, my medical history means I really do need to eat lots of fibre & fermented foods so I can't cut to the bone; I just need to source supplies at less pricey places than our local W8rose! Whilst being careful not to bump up fuel usage...
So I'm going to aim for£380
please, for October, for 3 adults + regular family visitors. For us it's a 5-week month, so 5 main weekend shops plus what will have to be a couple of trips down to L!dls - although my neighbour tells me that Aldi's been better stocked lately, and is roughly equidistant. Might try it for one of those trips.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)10 -
Thank you elsiepac. I would like to join in again with £200 please. I am away from 11th-30th but OH is home alone and I will book deliveries for him before I go. I have already stocked the freezer with several easy to cook meals he can manage so with luck deliveries should be cheaper than usual. He doesn't know how to order on line so he won't be adding to them while I am away but can get to the shops if necessary. All that clutter used to be money10

Thanks again for running the thread @elsiepac..
I’ve got a normal four week month but with two birthdays that need cake and one that needs a special dinner which I’m going to do at home. However, I managed birthday business within budget last month and I’ve got some ingredients left over in the freezer and pantry which I can use up so I’m going to stick with
£150
This is for two adult vegetarians and a dog . It needs to cover all toiletries, cleaning products, dog food, a bit of meat for visiting carnivores and HM lunch box treats for said carnivores to take home with them 😀
See you in October!

I’m in this month @elsiepac thanks again for the new thread.
£350 for me please
This is for 2 adults and 1 toddler, who is dairy free.October runs 23rd September - 24th October for us.Ocadoop offered me £15 off a £60 shop and since the washing powder and DF milk for the month is the same price from here as it is anywhere else, I decided we could add a few bits for the cupboards to make use of the free £15 and get it delivered for free! I’ll try and do it again next month with a few more staples since I don’t really get value for money on the fresh stuff.Avoiding the shops over the weekend we wanted a roast dinner (ish) today and didn’t have everything we needed plus we were v low on most things so we shopped at Aldee and Tescow .
I didn’t buy these but my take away from the shops was this. A bag of frozen chips, we’re priced at …. Wait for it …..£4!!!!!!!!!! What on earth is that?! That was a CC price otherwise it’d have been more. £4 for a bag of chips when the same money could honestly feed a family for a day, all meals included. Absolutely shocking. We had meal planned for the week so mostly only bought things we needed plus I think most of the bits will cover other meals even if only lunches such as carrots for soup, mince for another meal etc. Snacks were purchased, as well as specific lunch bits like a ham joint ready for roasting, a HUGE block of cheese, big box of eggs. These 3 items alone were £10+ pennies. Crazy. I put back Horlicks on account of it being £3.50. Anyone one any tricks for some lovely drinks before bed time that don’t cost the earth? I looked for a ‘malted drink’ type thing but tescow didn’t have anything.I’ll add totals for the shops later as I don’t have them to hand but I’m on it for October! I intend on not using that budget. It’s all I have, not a target. Must remember that.Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

Thank you for the new thread @elsiepac
£200 budget for me please, 1st - 28th.
This is for two adults & three children & will have to stock up on dog treats. I was thinking about avoiding the October thread as having a difficult time at the moment but know overspending will not help things. So I’ve increased the budget abit to take some pressure off me, this will help to stock up on some freezer foods for when I don’t feel able to cook and increase how much fruit and veg I buy so I don’t feel as guilty about it!8
